  1. I personally think you don't understand statistics. You don't think Moyes or Mouninho haven't once NOT celebrated a goal like a hooligan? I enjoyed Dunc's celebration, though it wasn't befitting of a manager -- More like someone in the lower gwladys. Maybe I'm not so much of a crank that I criticize everyone for everything. Curious Haf, what do you think of Koeman's dress? Would you prefer him in sweats/trainers like Moyes to show the Working class roots of the city? Or would you rather see him in a three piece suit to give us a classic, respectful look. Or did you like Martinez's brown shoes because it shows us as hip, fashionable, and forward thinking.
  2. Should the manager act like a hooligan every time we score a goal? I hear Kenny Dalglish is available... I've seen plenty of managers from Moyes to Mourinho not celebrate significantly upon the scoring of a goal. You're unreal.
  3. Hey! You're infringing on my territory. I fancy myself as the sarcastic member on this board, though there seems to be enough to mock for the both of us these days
  4. Any chance you think that some of the under the radar signings are the young players (18-20 year olds) that we've signed? Just a thought
  5. Yeah, we are desperate for the top 4, so what's the Everton solution? Naturally, let's put Unsworth in charge, who has managed one senior level game, and put out a team of Everton youngsters. Oh yeah, that's gonna work. Only an Evertonian could suffer such radical delusions.
  6. If I must provide a bit of commentary, it seems like English culture is a bit glass half empty... and Scousers might be even more so?
  7. It seems like some new faces are coming around this messageboard! Funny how that happens when the team is not in form.
  8. I actually agree with you on this Haf. Not sure how we benefit from having him and Siggy and Rooney... Unless we envision phasing Rooney out by the time Klaassen has fully adapted to the league in the next year or two....
  9. What has the club done to warrant anything better than 7th given the resources of Arsenal, Spurs, City, Man U, Chelsea, Liverpool? Oh wait, this our first year where we've really had a large transfer budget to work with.
  10. He took us from 11th (2x) to 7th. Also, who would you rather have as manager?
  11. Apologies - didn't mean to make it seem like you aren't a long time Evertonian - more of just a reminder of our history and how in football, several of our teams have started poorly only to have a good season, and several other teams I've witnessed over the years have been great to start only to finish terribly (Arsenal.....) Give it some time pal. We have several young players in the squad that still need to mature as well as several new players that need to adapt... and then we will still need to sign a few impact players to fill in holes. I also think that we don't have near the financial backing the Abramovich gave Chelsea or Sheikh Mansour gave City. To match what City did 5 years ago in spending, it would be 500m pounds in today's transfer market... Moshiri is very wealthy, but not nearly as much as the Sheikh or Abramovich. This is a long term project, so let's all try and show some patience. *edit* one last thing, let's not forget what Everton stands for. We are a club that values youth and we are not a sacking club. It would be easy to spend a ton of money to bring in a bunch of top name players in their prime and to cycle through managers like Chelsea... Let's not forget who we are.
  12. I've been an Everton fan long enough to remember us thinking we were in a relegation fight in January under Moyes only to finish 7th.... What about you?
  13. I don't get it. We got 3 points, why is everyone moaning? We were MUCH better the first 25 minutes of the match than we've been all season, then Bournemouth grew into the game. We were weak after halftime and they nicked a goal, and then we got back into the game. I don't care how it gets done, but I want three points each week. We have Burnley and Brighton next, lets see if we get good results from them but I don't get why were are acting like Koeman is downtrodden after 3 points. There are 32 league matches to go, so I'll see how the next 6-7 matches go before wanting to axe Koeman or annoint him as the next Johan Cruyff.
  14. He ended up being found out for the fraud he is, no first touch and all. Not even a footballer!
  15. This. Not all of the youngsters currently around the team will become stars, but hopefully some do and a few more turn into capable squad players that gives us a core to build around and supplement with top talent.
  16. Which might be what we need actually given the lack of pace up top. He would keep high-pressing defenses honest.
  17. This. Not that we couldn't do a better rendition of modern, but those stadiums all are quite... soulless.
  18. Gibson passed on his fitness to McCarthy.
  19. I would hope that we have the money to build a quality stadium, no matter the era of styling.
  20. Gonna say I like it a lot. Turning old industrial properties into residential/commercial properties and making them much nicer is quite a popular styling on this side of the pond.
  21. 10 points from the next 12 (Not easy, but not unrealistic) would do us wonders.
  22. Don't insert facts into this discussion!
