  1. I get your point that we are bigger historically/have more history than Spurs, Man City, Chelsea, but that is not what pays transfer fees and players wages.
  2. Arsenal: 354m pounds in revenue for 2015-2016 (3rd) Chelsea: 335m pounds in revenue (4th) Liverpool: 302m pounds in revenue (5th) Manchester City: 392m pounds (2nd) Manchester United: 515m pounds (1st) Spurs: 210m pounds (6th) (and this will climb with their new stadium) Everton: 122m pounds (11th highest in the league) Sunderland: 108m pounds Bournemouth: 88m pounds (Lowest) Haf, we are much closer to bottom than we are to Spurs in the financial power of the club, at least per May 2016. We have a large and passionate fanbase, great history, but realistically we can't compete financially with the biggest clubs barring major changes.
  3. Fair enough, but Harry Kane can actually achieve silverware at Spurs. This club isn't coming close to the league title unless we double or triple are non-tv revenue
  4. Do you pass any blame on to reporters? Players and managers get asked such stupid questions.
  5. Aren't we close to 24 hours? Seriously though, as much as I want the players to love the club like I do, I don't care if they do if they're banging in goals at the rate of Lukaku. Some players instantly love Everton as a special club, others develop it over time, others never do. Most of our players don't grow up supporting Everton, so I don't expect every player to love the club like they grew up a Blue - For better or worse, we don't operate like Athletic Bilbao.
  6. He rescued us from that disastrous, idealistic, yes man, Martinez.
  7. Barca bitches sounds like something a young lad is looking for around 1am on La Ramblas, mate Also, Unsworth is such an easy man to get behind. Very well spoken, loves the club. Let's see how he does.
  8. Gana's, as a player, greatest strength in the eyes of some will brand him as a liability to others. His supporters will cite the amount of territory he covers and his willingness to breakup attacks and put in challenges. His detractors will say that it is a lack of positional discipline that creates space to invite the opponent onto our defense. The key is that a manager needs to have a system to fit him into with some limitation as to what his responsibilities are/how much he can roam about the pitch and to also play him with a midfield partner/partners who sit back and shield the defense (See McCarthy-Barry in 2013/2014 for the perfect combo of this) Same thing can be said for Barry/Schneiderlin/the position of holding mid. Some will say it provides a valuable shield for our centerbacks, allows other central midfielders freedom, and assures the fullbacks of being able to go forward, others slammed Barry for being on the ball too much and thus causing the team to player deeper as a whole.
  9. If you can make it across the pond in the next few hours, I'd be happy to share a pint or ten!
  10. Whatever. I'm going to take a 24 hour break from posting. Think I'm fed up.
  11. What a truly odd debate to be having/pointless argument. I'm not going to stoop to your level and be the next idiot to get into a five page argument with you. Honestly, I can't wait for the new stadium plans to come out so you can announce that it's a disgrace that we will have a garden featuring tulips instead of daisies, or that the Colin Harvey statue is in the wrong pose, or that the big video screen is a Toshiba and not a Sony.
  12. How many goals do you think Niasse ends up with this year Haf. Sounds like you rate him.
  13. No. That was quite a poor argument. Par for the course. Matty Foulds and Shani Tarashaj have gotten zero minutes! Wow, Koeman must've hated the youth. Oh wait, the manager sees training daily and builds a matchday squad based on what he sees.
  14. I think Niasse is shit and probably shouldn't be in the squad.
  15. Yeah, but you could argue that Martinez really got us and wasn't anywhere near good enough. Most important thing at the end of the day is results. Honestly, who did he "Mistreat" besides Barkley? Maybe Barkley is a colossal pussy who needs to toughen up and improve his performances. Seriously, the lad is a man-child who can't formulate complete sentences.
  16. At work, but I'll commence crying and drinking alone afterwards
  17. Fair enough. I guess we all handle shocking disappointment differently.
  18. Shocking. His ass needs to go manage Bury or Rotherham United through a cold winter before he gets a job of any substance.
  19. Something is wrong with a fanbase that shows such contempt and disrespect for those who chose to manage our club. I'll never celebrate us being relegation fodder and the manager getting the sack. Right move, still a sad day for the club.
  20. Mark, you forget that some people care more about beating their chest and having players and coaches who do the same rather than judging them by the performances they put in.
  21. I don't see how having a manager who coddles Ross and tells him how great he is is going to improve his decision-making or his defensive contributions. Ross isn't immune from the manager riding him, same goes for any other player. Ross is no longer a wonderkid, he's a well-capped Premier League player, he can take criticism. If one thing is clear, he's now just another PL player, no longer a future world beater.
  22. Even if we got Ancelotti, at the first sign of trouble, all Evertonians will turn on him because he isn't animated enough/an angry yob and then start accusing him of not caring about the club because he's used to managing bigger clubs/wants to go back.
  23. Niasse is nowhere good enough and Barkley has hardly progressed after year 2 of Martinez's reign to now. I guess I can't blame Niasse for not being good enough but Barkley has himself as much to blame as any manager for his situation. All the players need to be held accountable. Now that the manager has changed, that excuse has gone for the players.
