  1. The Yak has retired. Who is the laziest player in football now?
  2. You ever think that not being in London doesn't have something to do with it? That's where all the true high dollar sponsors have offices thus generating the demand for corporate sponsorships and premium seating that brings in massive commercial and matchday revenue. Why have Spurs grown so much in financial clout? Arsenal?
  3. I think your problems lie with Sky TV, the backpass rule, foreign players, and the demise of long ball.
  4. Sean Dyche for me. Would be happy with Eddie Howe or Silva.
  5. Ah, the joys of being a spectator instead of a manager.
  6. Just realized we play West Ham last match of the season. Would be remarkable if it came down to us and West Ham in a relegation fight match last day....
  7. Would be absolutely hysterical. If fans thought Koeman was cold, arrogant..... LVG is Koeman times three.
  8. Looking like a pretty laughable proposal and decision from this side of the pond. Mind you, I am unabashedly pro immigration and pro trade, but the virtual and literal walls some politicians tout in order to gain power or money runs directly against the changes that the world is going through whether it be with or without the Western Establishment. Ideas, Goods, Services, People, and Capital are increasingly mobile and arbitrary borders prohibit economic growth. Sure, globalization and automation has left some behind, but its advanced the standard of living for so many more people. The political movements like Brexit are an example of power-grabbing politicians manipulating people into cutting off their arm to spite their hand. More damage will be done and progress unhad than problems will be fixed. Good luck, Beijing (and be careful what you wish for), the torch is yours and our fate is in your hands, as Washington, Paris, London, Brussels, and increasingly Frankfurt are failing us.
  9. The problem with Silva is that Watford's squad is completely unlike ours. We don't have the pacey wingers they do combined with pacey and strong central midfielders that make them physically tough to play against.
  10. Because Everton fans are always fickle and often irrational. An emotional bunch, not always a logical bunch. 1. Underselling the club and expectations - Common workplace sense, "underpromise, overdeliver". Yes, it can be quite annoying when done to the extreme, but most managers do it. The ones who don't are like Roberto Martinez - promise us Champions League and take us to eleventh. His overambition and overdreaminess certainly got old quickly. In the context of the fact that the club had battled relegation since the beginning of the PL era and that we were cash strapped, it was a great achievement to get us the consistency that Moyes did. Not necessarily in the overall context of the club, but you have to be with the times. 2. If we had sold Fellaini and Baines for 30m total, it would've been a masterstroke for Moyes and shown Kenwright's true inability in all things business. 3. Nobody argues that Moyes is great, but most argue that he was a consistent and more than competent performer here. I would really hate to be the ex-girlfriend of some of the members here.... There's a saying, "If you meet an asshole one day, you meet an asshole. If you meet an asshole everyday, you're the asshole."
  11. Meanwhile Burnley sit in 7th and Bournemouth are now getting results.
  12. I realized how dumb that sounded after I said it. If a manager does good enough to warrant a job at a "superclub", then it probably means success for us in the meantime. Clarifying, I just hope that it's somebody who brings us success and either stays, or waits out for the right superclub should success occur. Silva seems to be a bit of a merchant. Shame. Managers quit too quickly these days, Boards sack them too quickly, players even quicker to move for a slightly higher wage or for a bigger club
  13. Exactly. I don't care how ugly we have to play or how defensive we have to play if it starts getting us results and moving us up the table
  14. Good manager, but he'll be leaving us for Atletico or Arsenal or Chelsea if he does well here as quickly as he's trying to leave Watford
  15. His workrate is brilliant and he's showing a better knack for finishing, but I hope to God he is no higher than third choice striker by the end of next summer if European football is the actual ambition of the club , and not reliving the Dogs of War years and telling ourselves how hard we are.
  16. Kenny. Really starting to look comfortable at this level.
  17. Jets, fireworks, and lasers pointed at the NZ players. Absolutely hope that Peru go home with zero points, bottom of their group. If their fans are going to act like animals against a relative minnow like New Zealand, I wish them nothing but embarrassment.
  18. Mixed feelings here. Love a small, random (non-footballing nation) like New Zealand to make it through, but Peru has some actual quality and it's been a long time since they've qualified. If it were a WC regular from CONMEBOL, I'd firmly support New Zealand, but I'm indifferent about this one. Scoring draw will be very tough for NZ, but would see them through.
  19. I don't want more than one young player in each segment, ideally. That midfield would have Davies, Vlasic, and Lookman
  20. It's becoming quite clear the board sacked Koeman with little agreement on an ordered list of potential replacements.
  21. The Italian aptitude for planning and problem-solving isn't quite up to the level of the Germans (Understatement). Interesting to see how they respond
  22. Wow. Watford ownership must be a bitch to deal with.
  23. I remember when the Italians bought them and dismissed Sean Dyche for Gianfranco Zola (Boy, I bet they regret that... Zola couldn't manage a lemonade stand). Did Quique Sanchez Flores quit, or was he sacked?
