  1. I think all of us thought this performance was going to change your views on him Fair play to them,. They deserved that. They were decent, we were utter crap.
  2. Are we going to drop points consecutively against to relegation sides? Everton that.
  3. I am seriously skeptical that he is the man to take us forward. His style isn'tt attractive, for sure, however part of me feels bad for the man having had a very successful managerial career but not gotten a true shot at a club with the resources tor really go to Europe. Even if he does a great job, we will have a big decision come May with regards to giving him the keys in 2018/2019. I couldn't see him managing us beyond that unless he got us into the top six, and him getting to manage in 18/19 is a big if.
  4. I would never suggest anyone on here loves Everton more or less than I do - you all are crazy enough to spend time posting and venting about the club on here as I am.
  5. My mate put me on to a lower league striker who I think could come good if given a shot. His name is Jack Asseman. Does the donkey work like a natural and without complaint.
  6. This. Will be much easier to nick a few goals against them. West Brom are tough to score on when they set up to play like yard dogs.
  7. Is this you announcing your intention to court Louise?
  8. I knew you sympathized with those diving fairies. Unfortunately for you, sports are judged by results first and foremost. If aesthetics are your primary desire, I suggest becoming an art enthusiast. If you purely want entertainment, may I suggest watching a movie. I want to win. I enjoy attacking football and take little joy in seeing my entire team sit on our own 18 yard box, but the most joy I take is when my team gets 3 points and finishes the season in a high position. My team succeeding matters more to me than anything else. I'm sure Wigan fans and Rayo Vallecano fans loved the free flowing football they played under Roberto Martinez and Paco Jemez, but I'm sure that more of them would've sacrificed some on style to preserve their top flight status. Screaming your head off about the style we play being shite when were in the relegation zone in late October while we now could potentially take a European place is short-sighted, irrational, and steeped in emotion (Lots of emotional talkers on here, rather than rationalists). Big Sam could rescue the season and take us into a European place, leaving us in a much better position to recruit the right players and have another go at it in 2018/2019... Finally, I'll point out that so many posters on here think it's okay to declare a final judgment on a player or a manager after 5 matches when that is way too small of a sample size. I'll hold out on declaring a final opinion Allardyce until March or April at the earliest when I've seen enough to be a fair arbitrator of his managerial ability. As for my second highlighted point- The best Everton football I've season was late 11/12 (Everton 3 Newcastle 1), early 12/13 (Everton 3 Villa 0), and Moyes' final few matches here (Everton 2 WHU 0). The team was bent towards attacking but very direct and quick in its build up while we still had a physical presence, the high work rate of a typical Moyes' team, and plenty of 1-2's and great passing. As for parking the bus - depends on the match, but it truly is the best way to get a result against the Shite. They have pace and are ruthless on the counter but not nearly good enough in build up play and creative passing to break down a condensed side. They will hammer goals home in 3 on 3 break aways but are relatively tame to any side with defensive solidarity. Now, I think we all here should pitch in to get Mark a Bein sports tv subscription so he has tv rights to the Spanish league and some of the south american leagues - you'll like the football a lot more there. I'll also suggest Bundesliga on Fox - lots of attacking play there.
  9. I read that Schneiderlin could be on as much as 120k per week - not many clubs out there that can pay that amount for that sort of player, especially the top half but not top 3-4 clubs in France and Spain that, in my opinion, would be well positioned for Schneiderlin.
  10. Are any of these opinions informed medical opinions?
  11. It's not about results, TallPaul. It's about possession. That's what football is about
  12. I want to say Djibril Cisse broke both his left and right legs at different points - no idea if either or both were tibia AND fibia breaks.
  13. Read some Spurs info - a lot of fans are saying that the new tv money + the new stadium will put them at 300m-350m+ in annual turnover - a scary statistic that makes me wonder that we can never catch up or even potentially draw much closer. Maybe the new ground + new shirt sponsorships could put us at close to 250m pounds in revenue per year, but I do worry that the big six are permanently sat above us barring the injection of hundreds of millions of pounds from some benefactor richer than Moshiri (Usmanov?). I'd be interested to see our financial position relative to some of the big Spanish clubs, Italian clubs, German clubs and I think we can gain on them, but who knows.
  14. Has a leg break truly forced any players to retire in recent years? I know of Steve Zakuani in MLS, but I thought the days of leg breaks ending careers entirely were back in the 90s
  15. Needless to say, I don't think his spell indicated that we, a club with significant finanical backing aiming to play European football and potentially win a cup (and maybe break into the top six), should be so eager to give the keys over to a completely unproven, inexperienced man whose not managed a senior team before just because "he is one of us" or gives great interviews.
  16. Did this guy hear it from a taxi driver? Honestly some people are far too quick to believe bullshit stories just to attach any meaning to a question burning in their mind
  17. Get in. They aren't invincible. Especially given the amount of fixtures played over the holidays and the fact that both teams play on the 30th and then 2 days later, it will depend on both teams fitness. They will rotate their squad and it may or may not click - same goes for us. Anything can happen in this one.
  18. I've been thinking about him a lot lately in regards to his position. This may sound insane, but does anyone think he'd be a very good rightback? He'd need to work on his crossing, but he has some other skills I think would translate well to fullback.
  19. I know you've gotten your answer, but Moyes was originally given a 6 year deal at Man U for perspective haha. Also I think Pardew got like a 7 or 8 year deal at Newcastle after taking them to 5th in 11/12.
  20. It's English football. Dross happens. On to the next match.
  21. These sorts of results in the Premier League. There's always a few teams with big physical players who just play like yard dogs who make it near impossible to beat them at home. This was literally just like watching Stoke at home when Pulis was their manager.
  22. I think it would've been naive to think that WBA wouldn't be tough and absolutely kill the game.
  23. I do think that this highlights why we generally play with both Schneiderlin (holding mid) and Gana (box to box). If you don't have enough players in the center of the park, you won't maintain any possession. That's why we normally play with "two holding mids"
