  1. Why would he give 29 pounds change if he only received 21? Surely he gave 29 pounds change on receiving 50 pounds. Shoes made = -£15 Fake money is changed, so shoes are now bought with real money Shoes purchased = + £50 Change given = -£29 Result from this exchange = + £21 Real money returned to other shopkeeper = - £50 The maths on that equals (-15 + 21 -50) -£44.
  2. :sad01_anim: Expense paid out -- Shoes £15, Change given out £29, Paid to next door £50 = £94. Income received ----- Shoes 0£ (fake 50), £50 from next door ...................... = £50 94 - 50 = 44.
  3. Yeh well FA cup came after that so he changed something in his M.O. and now he doesn't miss anymore .
  4. Jagielka has also proven he doesn't miss in pressure situations. I'm pretty confident in everyone taking a penalty except : Howard, Hibbert, Yobo, Distin, Senderos, Fellaini, Yakubu, Vaughan and Saha.
  5. bash.org has some pretty funny ones too : Roses are Red Violets are Blue i could never love you because you're 1/16 jew Roses are red Violets are blue this line doesn't rhyme and neither does this one Roses are red, violets are blue, I'll fuck you with a rake
  6. I'll tell you the way most people here learn English. Endless hours of television . After a while you're no longer reading the subtitles. And it's why during the Seinfeld era, everyone in Belgium spoke with a NY accent . My English is better than my French, even though in schools here you only get 4 years of English compared to 8 mandatory years of French. While at university my grades were always better for the courses taught in English than in French. All thanks to TV. So I would advice you to start enjoying French Cinema .
  7. 94 - 21 = 73 .. you're correct there . But explain how you get to 94 ? Seeing how Bill got there is wrong (see my previous post).
  8. Yes he did. He received a real 50 pound note right? Which he got from the next door shop owner. If he hadn't received 50 pounds from the enxt door shop owner, then why did he have to give it back to him? Before he had to give the next door shop owner 50 pounds, he did receive 50 pounds from that shop owner .. right? He went in to exchange the fake 50 for the real 50. Remember? So all he did was give the shop owner next door his 50 pounds back. So when you say he gave a guy 29 pounds and a pair of shoes which totals 44 pounds, you are correct. But in regards to the next door shop owner, he only gave him back the fifty pounds that the next door shop owner had first given to him! I'm beginning to think you're not even reading the explanations that were given .
  9. "This is a special approach in the Anglo-Saxon countries. If this had happened in let's say Latin countries then I think he would have been applauded." http://deadspin.com/5470026/sepp-blatter-trafficks-in-swinging-stereotypes .
  10. Or given the fact that he doesn't say why, I'm thinking he's just trying to get some people riled up again .
  11. Even after you read the deconstruction of the problem by DangerMouse (and me)? One last attempt. I hope it becomes clear now: Bob walks into the store with a fake 50. So basicly he walks into the store with nothing, right? OK, so he gives Ten nothing and in exchange gets 29 pounds and a pair of shoes which Ten himself had paid 15 pounds for. So Ten in essence gave Bob 29 + 15 = 44 in exchange for nothing. Alright. Meanwhile this happens : Ten goes to Max to ask for 50. Max gives it. Later, Max asks it back. Ten gives Max 50. So basically nothing happens there. If you don't want to disregard the fake 50 and want to keep track of it throughout the transaction, here goes : Bob walks into the store with a fake 50. Ten goes to Max and exchanges Bob's fake 50 for a real 50. Ten gives Bob a real 50. Bob uses the REAL 50 to buy shoes. He pays Ten 21 pounds for the shoes. Max walks in the store of Ten and wants his 50 back. Oh NO! Ten has only 21 pounds left. So he has to come up with an extra 29!! On top of that, he no longer has the shoes! So that's an extra 15 pounds gone!! Oh boy, now he's down 29 + 15 pounds, which is 44 pounds. So how in the world do you end up with 73? (or 79).
  12. . and this one where he talks about fighting with Witsel over who gets to take the penalty. .
  13. I admit that at first I made the same mistake as you. Here's another try at an explanation: STARTING POINT : Bob has a FAKE 50. Max has a REAL 50. Ten has a pair of shoes which he paid 15 pounds for. 1) Bob walks into a store with a FAKE 50. 2) In exchange for the FAKE 50, he gets a REAL 50 (which Ten got from Max). 3) With the REAL 50 Bob buys shoes. 4) The shoes cost 21 pounds which Bob pays for with the REAL 50. 5) At this point, Ten has 6 REAL pounds (21 - 15) and Bob has 29 REAL pounds + shoes. Max has the FAKE 50. 6) Max wants a REAL 50 for his FAKE 50 and goes to Ten. 7) Ten gives Max a REAL 50. 8) At this point, Bob has 29 REAL pounds + shoes. Max has a REAL 50. Ten has -44 (6 - 50) REAL pounds + a FAKE 50. 9) Disregard the FAKE 50 and you end up with -44 REAL pounds for Ten.
  14. I will admit to the fact that I'm incredibly biased but I don't think Fellaini should have been sent off. At the moment they both reach the ball, Fellaini is still standing, so obviously he got there first because the other guy found it necessary to slide in, stretched legs, two feet forward, and still only got to the ball second. It was an incredibly dangerous tackle which will get you a red card no matter who or what you end up hitting. Maybe if Fellaini hadn't stepped on his leg, his ankle would have gotten the full impact and he'd be out for longer than a season. The greek put himself in a situation to get hurt there. To me saying Fellaini should have been sent off is like prosecuting a train operator because someone committed suicide by jumping in front of his train (OK, somewhat of a hyperbole ).
  15. Bill ... imagine Max is the same person as Ten. Bob comes into his store. Bob walks out of the store with 29£ and a pair of shoes which cost Ten £15. In exchange Bob gave Ten nothing but a dodgy 50 which is worthless. So Ten lost 29 + 15 = 44. Another way to look at it. Ten got 21 pounds in the transaction. Then Ten has to give 50 tot Max. So he's out 50 + 15(shoes) = 65. If you then subtract the 21 he got in the transaction you get 65 - 21 = 44. Max broke even because he got a real 50 back from Ten in the end. Bob got 29 pounds and a pair of shoes. Ten sold a pair of shoes on which he made a 6 pound profit. But then had to give 50 to Max. 50 - 6 = 44. I guess there's still some other ways to explain it but I think you get it now .
  16. Chuck season 3 episode 7 .. enjoyable.
  17. I can't find any new information.. Any other rumors on how long he is gonna be out for?
  18. I'm hoping for a 0-0 with 11 men behind the ball constantly. Chelsea are scary efficient, and our midfield isn't just decapitated, but also delimbed. I would have more faith if Rodwell and Arteta were both healthy. Fearing an Arsenal at home scoreline from the beginning of the season, but I don't think we'll score this time.
  19. Didn't we also just spend £10m on a Russian midfielder? IMO all three (Donovan, Pienaar, Bily) can play the same position, and all three are too good for one of them to be a bench player. I don't think Moyes will spend any more than the rumoured £3m on Donovan because if the main objective is to retain Pienaar, then Donovan will probably be benched most of the time next season. And Moyes wouldn't spend more than 3m (if that) on someone who he envisages sitting on the bench. Pienaar - Arteta - Fellaini - Bily ... Pienaar/Donovan - Arteta - Fellaini - Bily ... Donovan - Arteta - Fellaini - Bily/Pienaar
  20. What advantage is there in learning dutch? Seems to be a complete waste of effort to me because almost everyone in the Dutch speaking parts of the world (Belgium, The Netherlands, Suriname, (South Africa), Netherlands Antilles) speaks English.
  21. I always liked The Who.. but that half time show was just sad. Should have retired a LONG time ago. Glad the game was on BBC.. Thank God they flew in 49ers QB Alex Smith, else we would have never known that "Reggie Bush is a game-changer, I mean, he changes games". Well done Alex. I was rooting for the Saints because if Manning had won, he would have been the QB of the decade instead of Brady.
  22. Long term injury is not really a surprise .. tends to happen when someone does a two footed dropkick on your ankle.
  23. Rammstein - Völkerball. Crazy Germans. Enjoyable. Rammstein - Pussy. lyrics : Schönes Fräulein, Lust auf mehr? Blitzkrieg mit dem Fleischgewehr! Schnapps im Kopf, du holde Brau, Steck Bratwurst in dein Sauerkraut! . absurd.
