  1. They're showing Band of Brothers again on TV here. So I finally decided to buy the book its based on, "Band of Brothers" by Stephen Ambrose. Loved the series, enjoying the book so far.
  2. Indeed .. it's Vermaelen, the Arsenal player. Fellaini is not even on the list of possible candidates.
  3. One thing the autist in me noticed is that it says "(101 member(s) have cast votes)" while if you add up all the votes, you only get a 100.
  4. doesn't ESPN have different programming depending on the country you're in? I think you need to get local listings.
  5. So at the start of next season, with everyone back and healthy .. we have Osman, Pienaar, Arteta, Fellaini, Cahill and Rodwell who play in center midfield. I have no idea who to bench from that lot and who gets to play in the middle .. why would Rodwell stay if he doesn't get to play? might as well go sit on the bench for a CL contender. Osman has shown what he can do when played in the right position against Chelsea and ManU. Arteta is probably the best playmaker. Fellaini has shown he can be the best DM in the world on any given day. Cahill has been a great player throughout the decade and his goalscoring really can't be missed. Pienaar is better in the middle, where he gets the space to move around and make things happen, than on the wing. With Moyes as manager, there's probably thee CM spots available in a 4-5-1 lineup. Gun to head I'd probably say Arteta, Fellaini and Cahill in a more attacking role, but I just as easily would agree with any other combination.
  6. well it's now proven that we can beat teams that normally dominate games (chelsea, manu, man city, ) ..; I don't take it as a given that we can beat the likes of Hull etc where we have to be the dominant team.. that's a whole different game and that's still where we struggle (as the 3 out of 18 shows).
  7. Dr.Dre feat. Snoop Doggy Dogg - Still D.R.E. Rap is more funny than anything.
  8. Wasn't it Wes Brown that touched the ball with his hands? Anyway, I didn't think that was a penalty. And Rooney jumping into Heitinga wasn't that bad either. Referee had a solid game.
  9. Lol I never knew they went down head-first as well.. most ridiculous sport ever. One sport that I have enjoyed is Biathlon .. I like sports where at the end you're completely exhausted.
  10. If you like freedom and Jesus, you use Barbasol shaving cream.
  11. Hm here's how I see it based on yesterday's games: Benfica v Marseille Hamburg v Anderlecht Galatasaray v Everton AS Roma v Standard Liege Lille v liverpool Rubin Kazan v Wolfsburg Juventus v Shakhtar Club Bruges v Werder Bremen With Lille having a more than decent chance of beating liverpool. And really hoping Everton gets a Belgian team, I'm definitely there.
  12. how to get six red cards in one game . http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/scotland/south_of_scotland/8521557.stm
  13. Great for Donovan .. Hope this might help in getting him back next season. As for the actual result, surely Pienaar, Fellaini and maybe even Heitinga had a better month.
  14. donovan might be good as a second striker but i'm pretty sure he's much better playing on the right than osman is.. so i'd switch those two ... also, take out distin, put in yobo.
  15. I only just saw the South Park episode where they make fun of Kanye West .. Absolutely hilarious episode. They made a full version of the Gay Fish song : .
  16. I voted Osman. Looks like he's playing with a lot of confidence.
  17. and the start of next season it seems.. bad news.
  18. Lol just found out myself .. they were talking about it on Belgium's version of Match of the Day. So there's that.
  19. I assume there would be some sort of carry over of league points into the playoffs system. Aren't there any Dutch TT-members? I'd love to hear their view on how the system has been working out for them so far.
  20. around these parts that's known as doing an 'EFC`Taxi' .. Although I seem to remember he made it a point to include bluemoon.
  21. Holland already uses this system IIRC. They play for who gets to finish 2nd (which is the last CL spot I assume). In Belgium (granted not a top league ) they now implemented a system where you play all season long, and then the top 6 has a little tournament for who actually wins the championship (and the CL en Europa League places). The points of the first 6 get divided by two at the start of the tournament. So if last year you would have won the league by 5 points, this year you get to start a little tournament with a 2.5 point lead. I have my doubts.
  22. Apparently he hasn't had a scan yet because the specialist is unavailable . "The Belgian was set to have his injured ankle examined by a top London specialist yesterday, but the appointment has been postponed until next week due to the expert’s availability." http://www.evertonfc.com/news/41251/what-the-papers-say-12-february.html
  23. yeah it was also reported in Belgian newspapers.. but the journalist warned that it was The Sun who first broke the story so it should be taken with a huge grain of salt. No truth to this one, I assume. They must've meant Maroune Chamakh ...
  24. Oh ok.. makes sense . Here's another riddle for you : Two guys are walking down the street. Let's call them Bill and The Beard. Bill spots 50 pounds on the road and picks it up. They decide to go into the pub and buy drinks until the 50 pounds are fully spent. Two hours later they walk out of the pub. A man approaches and says he lost 50 pounds and saw Bill pick it up. Bill believes him and gives him 50 pounds. The Beard says to Bill : "now you've spent 50 in the pub and you gave that man 50 pounds. So you're down a 100 for the day." Bill thinks for a second and says : "that's both a feasible and acceptable answer." .
