  1. 1) Fellaini 2) Disagree with the choice of Distin here. He played very well in the beginning, then became awful, and now he's OK. I'm going with Coleman. Not too many to chose from in this category. 3) Mike. For naming nearly everyone in his vote for "best poster" . 4) MikeO. Always find myself agreeing. Plus he's also active in the non-football related topics which are often very interesting. 5) Has to be the "quiz question" where math and logic died "The Scam".
  2. decent striker but he's selfish and often behaves like a 5 year old if things don't go his way .. £8m is ridiculous. I think he only scored about 4 goals in the -Belgian- league this year.
  3. 30 Rock. Alec Baldwin is brilliant in this.
  4. Conspiracy theorist behind infowars.com, prisonerplanet.tv and probably some other.
  5. This is different. If Alex Jones had released this video he would have been doing a voiceover talking about the police state or what not.. Wikileaks just decoded a video which shows blatant facts. Alex Jones makes montages of scary pictures and newstitles. That's why this Wikileaks video has gotten so much mainstream attention (although not enough imo) and Alex Jones is treated as an outcast.
  6. Yeah when they were begging the wounded man crawling along the ground to pick up a weapon so they’d have an excuse to shoot him again and then just did it anyway, "disturbed" didn't actually describe what I felt. I can't believe this has only 5,000,000 views .. Maybe I'm too naive to think that this doesn't happen in every war and on both sides of the conflict but those guys should be prosecuted for war crimes.
  7. For those who haven't seen it yet ... disturbing video. Long version: Short version: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g46H6IFA8fU This wasn't normal warfare .. soldiers are not allowed to shoot at the injured or children, they are not allowed to hit unarmed people trying to evacuate the injured from the battleground. It's like they're playing a videogame.
  8. Watch the Arsenal players ever since the Eduardo injury when there's a hard tackle. They mob the referee every time. Ferguson is just a disconnected old man. Don't think he'll be fined.
  9. pretty much yeah .. cheapest concert of the last three years I went to was €40 for Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds in Brussels.
  10. Hornby - Fever Pitch. First 100 pages, not a fan.
  11. . I'll admit they're first of all players I subjectively like. Even if Bendtner scored 30 goals in a season I wouldn't include him in MY team of the year, I loathe Bendtner. Plus I don't watch any other English teams than Everton and those playing in the CL/EL. So the players on my team either played well against Everton, well for Everton, or well in Europe.
  12. Well if Moyes has €20m to spend on a Belgian please let it be Defour .
  13. I haven't read any indication of a price in any of the above mentioned articles. If Arsenal had to pay Ajax £10m for Vermaelen, I assume Vertonghen would cost somewhere around £7-9m. To me that's further indication that he won't play at Everton next season. I'd rather spend that on a player that plays a position where we actually definitively need someone, i.e. winger (Donovan).
  14. Van der Sar Sagna - Heitinga - Vermaelen - Bale Walcott - Lampard - Fellaini - Malouda Torres - Rooney
  15. You're right about Messi. Was also impressed with Dani Alves, "Seamus Coleman"-esque going forward . The game was a little bit too fast for Arsenal, especially for Bendtner.
  16. Well CSKA Inter was always going to be a dull game. It's like saying you don't like the Premier League because you judge it by watching a Bolton-Wigan game. I'm a big fan of the CL. It would be a loss for football if teams like Barcelona/Madrid, Bayern, Lyon, Arsenal/ManU/Chelsea, .. would only play each other in friendlies. The way Barcelona played at Emirates in the first half especially, was the best football I've seen in a long time.
  17. What Churinga said . I agree with everything he said in his post. Don't see it happening and although Vertonghen is a very good player, the added value for Everton is very slim in relation to the the cost of the player.
  18. I don't think he can be used as cover for LB. He doesn't have a lot of pace and to me his best quality is the way he can direct a game with his passing and positioning, which wouldn't be used fully if he played LB. Come to think of it, it is interesting that Dick Advocaat has started Vertonghen at DM ahead of Fellaini for the Belgian team so far.
  19. Apparently he's known for that kind of stuff ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K5T-ItZc8TA&feature=related
  20. Don't really know about this one. His best position (imo) is defensive midfield, which we have pretty much covered with Rodwell, Fellaini and Arteta. He could be used as a CB (where he plays now with Ajax) but I'd prefer the Heitinga-Jagielka pair. So if Moyes does buy him it would just be an expensive player on the bench. He won't be cheap because he is a good player and a very important one to Ajax. Don't see this happening.
  21. Portsmouth v Blackburn. For those who haven't seen it yet, this is absolutely brilliant : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0uoO-05gqWc .
  22. I guess Zola can keep his job now ......
  23. Nice cross by Baines! Good goal by Yakubu .. Game OVER. Edit: omg....
  24. One of my favorite books. You'll enjoy it.
