  1. Actually Defour is a youth product from KV Mechelen but was signed by Genk after KV almost went bankrupt (I'm an avid KV fan =) ). And didn't De Bruyne come through the youth program of Ghent rather than Genk? Isn't Genk also known for signing players out of the Standard de Liège academy (Bailly, ..)? .
  2. The real "BOOM!" can be seen at the one minute mark . Talented midfielder. If the rumoured price of £1m is correct then I'd do it. He plays for Churinga's favorite (Belgian) team if his signature is anything to go by, so he'll know him better. Anderlecht are after him though... EDIT: he was just profiled on the equivalent of MOTD here, scored goal of the week : http://sporza.be/cm/sporza/voetbal/Jupiler_Pro_League/extratime/1.563575 . (Don't know if you need to have a Belgian IP to watch the video though .. like BBC does).
  3. Kristin Hersh ft. Michael Stipe - Your Ghost.
  4. Defour = Pienaar but better. In Everton, I'd use him on the right in the same way as Pienaar is used on the left. More or less a free role when in possession, keeping position when defending. Eventually as Cahill gets too old I'd bring Defour to the middle. His work rate is bar none; he can do everything well, most things very well; he's a born leader; Yes, I would really like him at Everton . Oh and he turned 22 today.
  5. take the money he's got to spend on Witsel and Mbokani and spend it all on Defour. I don't get it, he obviously has been following Standard since before Fellaini, he must know how perfect Defour is for Everton. Maybe Defour said he doesn't want to come to Everton or something... I'm not looking forward to Mbokani in a blue shirt and Witsel is very good but not a perfect fit in view of our needs.
  6. "Everton ? C’est effectivement un club du top qui dispose d’une très bonne équipe." Good quote that. He has been a different player after that horrible challenge. I'm willing to just put it down to the fact that everything surrounding that game got everyone riled up and, being a young player, he got carried away .. no way he ever wanted the other player to be injured like that. He's been excellent since he's back, both in Europe and in Belgium (scoring, controlling a game, he's very strong, ...). He would make Everton a better team, no doubt. Not as great a signing as Defour would be (please sign Defour, Moyes!), but he's probably a lot cheaper. £7-9m would probably do it (depending on the recovery of the pound ). Same price I'd put on Vertonghen and to be honest for Everton I'd prefer Witsel. No it's done and over with. Anderlecht will win the title and they played well in Europe so it didn't impact their season all that much. But most importantly it's Witsel's performances that made everyone forget that tackle.
  7. Congrats Mike. Hope you have a great day.
  8. True I think Mbokani is overrated. You are right about Carcela though and it's quite possible that Moyes was there to scout him. He would have picked a good game too, Carcela played very well against Hamburg.
  9. He is as lazy, but he's more grumpy and not as good a goal scorer.
  10. That the correct solution. Why doesn't it look right?
  11. I had Larry David as my sig for quite a while. It just might be the best comedy series ever made.
  12. Well The Beard figured out that if you set fire at both ends of a rope, logically it will be gone in 30 minutes instead of 1 hour. Now all he has to do is figure out how to get the last 15 minutes. Doesn't really matter how quickly it burns. All you need to know is, each rope takes 1 hour to burn from one end to the other.
  13. You're right there. Impressive how quickly you figured out the first step. Second step should be easy for you now.
  14. Maybe the journalist saw a pattern! First year: second striker, second year: midfielder ... so third year: defence. I'm sure next year he's going to write about the rumored replacement of the glabrous Tim Howard by the hirsute Fellaini.
  15. Took me a while to figure this out but an enjoyable riddle nonetheless : There's two separate pieces of rope of equal length. If you light one end of the rope on fire, it takes 1 hour for the fire to reach the other end of the rope. However if the fire has burnt half the rope, that doesn't mean that half an hour has passed, so you can't deduce anything from that. Sometimes the rope burns faster, sometimes slower, all you know is that it takes 1 hour for the fire to go from one end to the other. Now, you have the two pieces of rope and a lighter. You have no clock but how can you know when 45 minutes have gone by after you've first set fire to one (or both) of the ropes?
  16. A Bulgarian not being allowed to "work" in Romania because of his sexual orientation? At that point it doesn't really matter what national law says in Romania, he clearly has a very strong case under Union law. But as I understand it he's only a rumored homosexual? So maybe he'll let it go.
  17. http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&layout=1&eotf=1&u=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.standaard.be%2Fartikel%2Fdetail.aspx%3Fartikelid%3DDMF20100412_071&sl=nl&tl=en You've got to love people who say "I am not bound by law, only by the Bible." .
  18. After starting the last round with a bogey never looked like Westwood could keep Mickelson behind him. Great day of golf though, the back nine Kim played was very impressive.
  19. Still think Atkinson is worse, he's had some horrible games in Europe this year.
  20. No :worried: .. He'd be absolutely perfect for Everton! Really hope Moyes hasn't given up on him yet. Didn't he already make a 10+m offer for him last year? Maybe Moyes was also there to check out Witsel, but I don't really know who else on Standard could be good enough for Everton.
