I was thinking Duvel aswell but "Was nearly killed by the fumes in the froth when I tried to drink it normally" doesn't really fit that beer.. though maybe it does if you consider the weak stuff they drink in the UK .

I'm sceptical too, but he stands by his theory that the closer to the brewery you are, the worse the beer. Maybe it's some kind of drugdealer thing where at first you get the good heroine to get you hooked and once you are, you get 50% baking soda .

On of my friends knows a guy who used to work at Stella and he told me they export the highest quality of beer and keep the lower quality for the Flemish market. Not only is your beer cheaper, it's better... Unfair.

I seem to remember that you liked reading Catch-22 by Heller? If that's the case I'd buy "A Confederacy of Dunces" by John Kennedy Toole (if you don't have it yet). Both are among my favorite books of all time. Best non-fiction I've read in the past year was "The Great Transformation" by Karen Armstrong. It's about the origin of religion.

Just finished watching Rome season 2. What an amazing series. Recommend it to anyone who has an interest in that time period. The show tries to more or less accurately depict the events that actually occurred unlike "Spartacus Blood and Sand" which is also a good show but more in the style of the movie 300.

It's the 3D that makes it special .. without that, it's just an average movie that's way to long.
