We could and that’s fine if the player’s preference is us and this would be a compromise but that’s unlikely in this case.

I’d prefer a young right back to come in and put pressure on Coleman... are Kenny or Holgate up to it? I’m not sure. Wan Bassaka is class but being touted at £50m+, I like Aarons at Norwich, James at Chelsea and Bogle at Derby are getting a lot of praise - there’s plenty out there - upgrades on Holgate/Kenny? Good enough to take Coleman on for his spot? I don’t know.

If there is any truth in this and it’s not just his agent throwing our name in to make Man U twitch, then my only reservation would be that we’d more than likely have to reassess the wage structure as, on a free, someone’s likely to be able to offer something silly like £250k per week. Man U and others can budget for that - doubt we could or would.

We have competition in the wing positions but Bernard, Richarlison, Walcott, Lookman and Onyekuru are all right footed - Vlasic, Mirallas and Bolasie are too (I think). We need to get rid of whoever is surplus and bring in at least one left footed option - it’ll make us much better in my opinion. Overlapping full backs and wingers who can cut inside and shoot (on both flanks) will make us very dangerous.

More likely have Traore on the right as I’ve read somewhere that we want a left footed player who can cut in so that may mean Richarlison playing more centrally. I agree, Bernard and Digne is something that should be built on.

Let’s not worry about stuff like this and leave it to the people who make these decisions - we can have a good moan and a ‘I told you so’ if they’re wrong or pretend we called it all along if they’re right.

Left footed winger who can play off either wing or through the middle. Surely it’d be a good thing that Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin and Traore could all be versatile and interchange...

Liked him at Chelsea. Liked him at Ajax. Liked what I saw of him in the Europa in 17/18 at Lyon. Hasn’t got much of a reputation and probably won’t command a huge fee in today’s market - £20m mark is my guess.

I don’t ever remember a Turkish team paying £30m or anything anywhere near that! They’ve obviously had older players on high wages like van Persie, Drogba and Roberto Carlos but not for fees like that. If he goes to Turkey, it’ll be another loan.

Well we are in the market for a left footed winger and Barca are our feeder club.

On the basis that, when fit, he’s much better than Tosun, Niasse, Sandro and DCL, I’d have him in a heartbeat... fitness is the huge issue though! In my opinion, it’s a risk worth taking if we sell Tosun and Niasse (hopefully Sandro too) but we’d need a 3rd striker too. DCL, Welbeck and a first choice striker would be fine by me.

I think we’ll let Lookman leave and try to get Bowen from Hull. Left footed, young, had a very good season and someone Silva will know already from their time together.

Should be unrealistic (stranger things have happened though!) but would be the dream signing ala Aguero for City - would instantly propel us. I don’t think, even with all the money, that we stand a cat in hells chance of getting him though.

Age wise, he doesn’t fit the ‘Brands model’... sure he said we’d be looking to sign players under 26years old - yes we may sign a couple who aren’t but can’t see us investing however much it would cost to get this 27 year old with potentially a short shelf life due to his previous injuries.

Big Dunc is who he reminds me most of. A nightmare for defenders, great in the air, physical, hot headed - often takes it too far but has the ability to do something magical with the ball at his feet. As I said previously, he’ll be a good signing for someone, and I’d be happy if it’s us, but maybe not the type of striker that would compliment our system best.

Stek will be off to Barca with Koeman! Pretty sure Cuco Martina will be high up on Koeman’s list too!
