I wouldn’t look too much into his form - he’s clearly downed tools. Obviously not a good quality but, realistically, he’s got one more contract and he’s obviously not wanted to risk too much. He was denied a move to Man U this time last year so probably made his mind up then.

Supposedly a deal to Southampton died early due to wage demands... looks like money is the main incentive- if that is the case, we may be better off without.

With 6months left on his contract, £8m doesn’t seem likely (unless we’re desperate). Maybe full cost over his contract inclusive of wages etc. = £8m. Fee will, no doubt, be announced as undisclosed.

I think he needed this loan at the start of the season and then maybe come back to us with confidence (like a new signing) for the 2nd half of the season! This is his first loan - there’s hopefully a long career ahead of him but this could really help shape it.

Good move hopefully but will Lennon see beyond this season? Hopefully, Kenny makes an instant impression and proves a no-brainer. They may not be flush with cash currently but I see Eduard leaving in the summer (could be a decent option for us) and maybe Ajer so they could easily afford a reasonable deal if he does make an impression.

I’d have thought so - to be honest, it’s the best scenario for Gordon as he’ll hopefully be first choice there.

It’d be good prep for next season (trusting Kenny and Tosun make enough of an impression to secure permanent transfers) but seem like a big missed opportunity for this season. I saw a stat yesterday that said we haven’t made a goal scoring substitution all season. This is why I want a proven striker - ideally Dzeko - I’d prefer younger players but short-term we’ve got a real chance of at least top 6 this season and that will only help recruitment in the summer.

If we sign Olsen on a permanent, that’ll be an indication that it’s 2 loans

If we’re getting rid of Bolasie, Kenny, Tosun, Bernard, Lossl and maybe even Delph - albeit maybe only on loan, I expect we’ll be seeing at least one loan coming in. That’s a lot of wages freed up - we’re either in financial ruin (which I don’t think we are) or we’re freeing up space for a couple of incomings (on-loan).

A few rumours going round that Celtic are having him on-loan. Hopefully with a purchase obligation if true.

We’re desperate for a Harvey Barnes type player - fearless and direct - someone who will actually run at defenders. If this happens, I’d like to see Richarlison get more opportunities as a number 9. We’d have to be less direct but I don’t think taking DCL out for the odd game would be a bad thing.

I’ve tried voting for ‘1. ???’ but he doesn’t seem to be an option. Everyone else was shite!

Without going through the thread so sorry if it’s been mentioned already but how shit was the commentary last night? It was the worst I’ve ever heard - no knowledge whatsoever when it comes to Everton! I know us, as fans, follow EFC closer but Savage and whoever the other bloke was are paid to have some sort of background knowledge. In the first half they were shocked about the deep line on defensive free-kicks and I think Savage said that he’d never seen us do that before - maybe even that the players had decided to do it... miraculously, in the 2nd half (after clearly being briefed at half-time), Savage commented about that deep line that Everton had been doing all season and shared ‘insight’ on it. It was hideous - so many other ridiculous comments by both of them who clearly haven’t seen us play this season.
