  1. Ancelotti’s not getting carried away after that loss nor should any of us.
  2. Ancelotti said he picked up the injury vs West Brom and will be out for a few.
  3. I think he made a couple of sloppy errors (not the own goal) but his pace, strength and recovery at times was excellent - also when he breaks with the ball from defence - class.
  4. Pickford for keeping it respectable. Allan, Godfrey and Keane were decent performers in my opinion but we were soundly beaten by a far better team... just look at their bench tonight - they’re miles ahead of us. I think they’ll comfortably finish 2nd now Tuchel’s at the helm.
  5. Hopefully just a bitter kopite trying to deflect their pain - we’ll know for sure tomorrow.
  6. No - let them keep paying these players approaching their twilight years £200k+ a week with no resale and no Champions League to balance the books!
  7. Come on TT mods - this is the kind of impartial analysis we all crave!!!
  8. We should probably start a campaign for Pickford to be player of the year but we’re not them...
  9. Can we spout off about the 6 in a row they’ve just lost at ‘fortress’ Anfield?
  10. ‘Non-Covid illness’ was the line I read somewhere.
  11. I’ve read in a few places - this fall from grace and total disaster is something that has happened very suddenly at all clubs Klopp has managed just before he leaves. Maybe his time is up in the summer and they go looking for an ex-player on the back of winning his first title as manager...
  12. Well I looked in there and people were talking about Iwobi and I thought ‘this isn’t right surely we’ve not stayed on topic...’ so I posted here instead.
  13. Richarlison - did some important defensive work too.
  14. He’s had his critics but he’s quietly going about his business in a very impressive manner - plenty of goals and assists this season - important ones too.
  15. This probably means nothing to you but I’m picturing David Brent with you saying that!
  16. I suppose he’s got age on his side. I actually think he could do well in Italy or Spain.
  17. I think good work with outgoings could make the 2/3 more like 4/5. I actually think the 3 main positions are RB, RW and CM add a striker to that if we sell Kean. We still need a keeper - it looks like Pickford is benefiting from the competition. Get Kenny and Tosun deals done quickly - maybe Bernard too. There are already a few big earners out of contract e.g Bolasie and Walcott (Besic?). Then Delph and Iwobi - any takers?
  18. My hopes/ blind optimism is fading. There’s been flashes where he looks great - first half Fulham away springs to mind but I’d struggle to list many occasions. We need natural wingers and I’d happily cash in.
  19. I’d guess they’re comparing his attacking prowess rather than effort. I do hope we sign an exciting winger this summer though - I’m so envious when I see players like Neto, Podence, Barnes, Raphina and even Trossard and St Maximin... all seem to have no fear and can do something all by themselves - I think Iwobi has the ability to do what they do but he doesn’t seem to do it as often - maybe it’s a discipline of the tactics - I don’t know. I don’t necessarily want us to sign any of the players above, as I feel they’ll all come at a premium price, but I’d love us to sign an equivalent player - maybe Silas Wagamama’s is our man.
  20. Was class before they signed him... starting to find his feet but he’s got a long way to go to justify what Arsenal paid.
  21. Just look at our noisy neighbours this season - not a lot has changed in their attacking players but the 18 different combinations or whatever (no one’s mentioned it for at least 5minutes) at the back, it’s made them look distinctly average and that’s on a good day!
  22. I agree - the fact that he watched the game from the stands in a baggy tracksuit and bucket hat really shows how nondescript the players on the pitch were.
  23. There’s nothing snide here - I believe we paid £35m plus add-ons for Richarlison - I don’t know what we offered for Doucoure at the time but we paid £20m last summer and he’s been an excellent signing... That’s all I have to say so make of it whatever you want to sunshine - goodbye!
  24. They’re hardly facts - you said we paid £50m for Richarlison - I’ve read it was £35m plus add-ons. You said Doucoure would have been worth £50m - I suppose it’s a ‘peteO fact’ I’m bending and yeah your ‘facts’ could probably do with a bit of reshaping. It’s just clicked what your post is about anyway, ‘the other was ready made in a position we were desperate to fill.’ It’s about Gueye again... get over it!!! I’m personally delighted that we’ve got both - thank you Watford!
