  1. Don’t say that - you’ll ruin the witch hunt!
  2. I thought that at the time - he was so happy - lovely to see! He’s clearly miles off the pace and psychologically it must be so hard after all the set backs so we need to be so so patient.
  3. Get that out of your head - no chance. He won’t be playing in England next season.
  4. We probably should have signed Lingard after all!
  5. That Kean lad is doing alright at PSG! (...and Simms at Blackpool - they’re flying!)
  6. It tells us that we don’t create many clear chances but, when we do, we usually finish them. I can’t recall any games (bar the first few) when we’ve had chances like tonight - the game should have been killed off - no question.
  7. I agree - that’s what I’m saying, we signed Doucoure, Allan and James to help us control games - they’ve barely played together.
  8. Maybe not tonight but in general. Once again though, we didn’t have control of a game we should have.
  9. Our problem is the same problem we’ve had for years - we can’t control games as we don’t have the central midfield players to do so. It’s slightly different this season as we actually have those players in Doucoure and Allan with James but can we get them all on the pitch together at the same time? Nope! Davies, Gylfi and Gomes have all done well in patches but they weren’t good enough last season and they’re not good enough still... we still need to address centre mid option desperately as we basically get overrun by every other team without our key midfielders playing.
  10. Tonight has been one of the only occasions where we’ve missed clear chances all season - I think we’re statistically the most clinical team in the league based on the xG data. I agree, finishing was poor tonight, but it’s not been a season-long trend.
  11. I’d imagine Holgate will be asked to play the role he did in the Derby so well with Zaha being his Man(e) this time - arguably his finest game in an EFC shirt.
  12. Still 10 games left. A short term back-up signing allowing Gordon to get more minutes out on-loan. He contributed vs Man U - that could be important and even if he contributes to one more goal in the 10 games that mean an extra point - that could make all the difference. It’s looking likely that he won’t be earning a contract here but there’s nothing to ‘tell’ really... if we’d have given him a 3 year contract maybe but thankfully those in charge saw the deal for what it is/was.
  13. Missing out on the King’s Dock stadium whenever that was, seems the biggest missed opportunity to me - especially when you look at what’s happened to Man City in that time. That seemed like the ‘golden ticket’ opportunity - now, 20 odd years on we’ve finally got a similar opportunity. We’ve dodged some bullets along the way - it could have been much better but it could have been much worse.
  14. Yes please. What a find Coufal (and Soucek) was by the way.

  16. There’s no research to do - valuations are all paper talk/ agents talking up their clients.
  17. I think they could work together and would be a great option against teams where we’d need to be a little more direct - that’s just my opinion though. Like I said, I doubt many will agree but I rate Abraham highly and actually think aspects of his game are superior to Dom’s e.g link-up/ work outside the box.
  18. I’d say they’d both be in the £35m region... whether they’re worth it is another matter but there wouldn’t be much difference in their valuations if sold tomorrow.
  19. Tunchel gave him plenty of minutes and seemed to like him at PSG so maybe. He doesn’t seem to rate Abraham.
  20. Many won’t agree but a swap deal between us and Chelsea - Kean for Abraham could suit all parties.
  21. After all the excitement about getting to play his favoured position for Nigeria... he won’t now... he’s got COVID. Oh! Having the international break made/makes no sense whatsoever in what is still a global pandemic. At least the South American’s/authorities had more sense.
  22. The quality coming out of Chelsea’s and Arsenal’s academies is incredible - people may not agree with how they do it with the stockpiling of players but let’s use Chelsea as an example - James, Tomori, Mount, Gilmour, Hudson Odoi, Abraham to name but a few - all capable of being very good Premier League players. Then there’s the likes of van Aanhalt, Traore, Ake, Bertrand and Lamptey who are all decent Premier League players who came through Chelsea’s system.
  23. That’s not entirely down to ability though - they have too many loan players to include all in the match day squad and Beni is the one missing out. That says to me that he’d at least be in the squad if there wasn’t a limit. I’m not saying he’s any good though!
