I miss feeling underwhelmed about Nuno! A big no from me - not because of the Liverpool links - because he’s not been a top manager in top jobs for a long, long time. This really doesn’t seem like a Brands appointment and that was a big factor for me. It just seems so unimaginative and an ‘easy’ option.

Fair enough if someone official from the club told you that but the 48hrs I read was all from papers - speculative at best.

Why is it automatically from Nuno’s side who’s holding it up? Could just as easily be EFC delaying it or maybe the deal wasn’t as far down the road as the always reliable press had reported.

I wouldn’t be so sure about the back 3. He spent last season trying to stop playing it with Wolves to try to make them more offensive.

Like what I’m seeing - looked a bit casual in possession a couple of times but he looks like he can get up and down and put a cross in - he seems to be keen to get into the box too. This game is quality!

I don’t know anything about him but (presuming he’s good) this is where having Nuno (Mendes) will be good as Mendes will sort us out with some class players. He ‘placed’ Neves in the Championship for Wolves and added so much quality to them allowing them to make the next step/quick progression - our next step/quick progression could be very illustrious if it works as well. I think I’ve just convinced myself that I want Nuno as our next manager!!!

I hope he will but sadly his main job has been getting rid of the overpaid horseshit that he inherited… yes he’s brought in some duds himself but that infamous summer and then Big Sam’s splurge has left long term damage.

Obviously injuries and player sales and maybe just fatigue (don’t forget their 2019/20 season spanned from 25th July 2019 to 11th August 2020 with a very short pre-season) were the biggest problem but Nuno’s insistence on playing 4 at the back and ‘trying to evolve’ was a big problem too. Coady can’t play in a back 4 especially not with Saiss - with Boly out the players suited the back 3 but Nuno was quite persistent and Wolves were pretty poor. I see positives in his appointment but this ‘lack of flexibility’ or ‘stubbornness’ is a worry - may not be either but still.

Whoever we get, gets my support. I support Everton - I may not want players/managers but while they’re here I want them to succeed.
