  1. Some may not like reading that but there’s a lot of truth spoken in it.
  2. I’ve already accepted James will be playing elsewhere next season.
  3. …and when he was on the pitch he was generally our best player.
  4. Yep - was too late last summer for White too. I remember Leeds tried but Brighton weren’t shifting at £30m+. Class player who will only get better.
  5. Regarding the price - £70-£75m for Godfrey and White seems quite reasonable to me in the current market. The fact that we got Godfrey for such a good price leaves a little leeway on the White deal. Both will retain and even gain value as both are young and top quality.
  6. We can definitely improve and arguably some of our most saleable assets are at centre back so if we could generate decent income from 2 lesser players (to White) to improve then that makes a lot of sense.
  7. Class player - would be a massive signal of intent. £50m seems very steep but if we got good money for 2 of Keane, Mina and Holgate, then it’d make a lot of sense. Godfrey and White could be an excellent pairing and both would also be comfortable in a 3.
  8. New signing modelling it too… will probably be our quickest player.
  9. To be honest, Moyes and Royle are the only managers I’ve ‘loved’ in my lifetime. Ancelotti’s a weird one as it was such a great appointment ultimately, with lockdown etc, it’s been a massive anti-climax. Some appointments have excited me like Koeman, Martinez, Silva, even going back to Smith but they’re soon forgotten. Just give me a team to be proud of - football’s such a fickle game anyway - success = happiness!
  10. Because you put WW11 rather than WWII.
  11. I hope he lasts a long time as that would suggest success.
  12. Last time Rafa replaced Carlo (at Real), he lasted 7 months.
  13. I’d take 1-0 on pens after 120mins of 0-0 as long as we win.
  14. I fully understand why the England squad is 90% full-backs now… without a recognised left-back, France have been a shambles at the back.
  15. He was on £100k as back-up at Man U - doesn’t mean we’d be paying him that.
  16. https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-9733241/amp/Arsenal-Tottenham-West-Ham-Everton-keen-Inter-Milan-wonderkid-Martin-Satriano.html
  17. He may like the area and be settled with his family.
  18. This is spot on for me. I’m more concerned about getting players like Gylfi and Bernard out the door and replacing them with young, hungry players (with pace, strength and stamina); if I see this and sense a real project led by Brands then I’ll be feeling really positive and optimistic. If the first thing he does is bring in players like Coady and Ayoze Perez - average , over-priced players who will leave on a free in 4 years as they seek one last pay day, then I’d be livid. I’m not actually bothered who the manager is anymore as long as we get the squad sorted as whoever it is will only be here long-term if they do well; fail to do so and we’ll be having these conversations again in 12-18months.
  19. Favre has now turned down Palace and Nuno is supposedly talking to Spurs… it’s bonkers! The media are probably creating this circus but I’ve never known any managerial ‘whatever the opposite of merry-go-round is’ like this!
  20. To flip this - I can’t imagine too many reds happy that he may be coming to us.
