  1. I can see all 3 doing well, especially Arsenal.
  2. To be fair Sanches looked class at the Euros after a very good season in France… we’re still not linked though.
  3. …or our scouting team have spotted a player of good value who could improve us rather than spending over the odds on the over-priced shite that has got us into this mess.
  4. There may be better at lower prices but we’d be getting our pants pulled down if we sold for £70m. He’s 24 scoring about 1 in 3, usually from the wing, in the most ‘competitive’ league and is a starter for Brazil. We need to play hardball with any team after Richarlison - there’s not many like him.
  5. Is there a clue about a vertical ‘Hummel style’ stripe when it turns it round on the video or is that just for the sake of the vid?
  6. I certainly like the sound of him… ’Correa is primarily deployed as a deep-lying forward or supporting striker, although he is also capable of functioning as a left winger, or as a centre-forward. Among his main strengths are his ball control, dribbling ability, pace, and agility.’
  7. He was unbelievable at Sevilla and I can see why he got the move to Barca. Supposedly, hasn’t worked out for him at Barca (don’t watch as much La Liga now it’s not on Sky) but if he’s still got what he did in his Sevilla days then he’d be a massive upgrade on what we’ve got and I’d happily sell 2 of Mina (only due to contract), Keane and Holgate to bring 1 better centre back in whilst probably making money to spend elsewhere. Centre back may not seem a priority but it’s certainly an area we can be clever in to create funds/space elsewhere.
  8. Took part yesterday - looks like the rumour came from someone reading it from the website which hasn’t been updated. Fingers crossed anyway because he looks like he could be such an asset (fitness permitting).
  9. Still could be - maybe he’ll start to look like the player we had hoped with a bit of pace alongside him in the team.
  10. That Simon Douglas is a jarg account - get it on mute!
  11. The WBA fans I know seem to think he’ll go to West Ham if they don’t get Lingard.
  12. Think it’s only Mullin who’s a blue in The Farm so we’re lucky the red members didn’t adapt it for that lot.
  13. I’d prefer that one on loan at West Brom last season - he was Okay.
  14. Just watched the US training video from today and he’s clearly not there (or at least involved in the session). The Gomes we had on-loan was excellent but I’ve been so underwhelmed since - obviously the injury didn’t help but still. Fingers crossed on another high earner off the books.
  15. This is the kind of signing I DO NOT want - he did well at West Ham but we’d be spending (wasting in my opinion) a big fee and wages on someone who has no resale and isn’t great. I’m fine with Townsend on a free and I’m fine with taking a chance on Gray for such a low fee but this, to me, is a prime example of what’s got us into this mess e.g same bracket as Walcott, Bolasie, Sigurdsson, Tosun.
  16. I didn’t see Olsen’s Mrs doing this when he signed!
  17. I’m sure this news will be received with warmth…
  18. Maybe Iwobi gets a chance in his preferred role - I’d certainly be willing to give him a chance. Bernard is off (almost certainly), I can’t see James sticking around unfortunately and Gylfi… who knows?! So maybe Iwobi/Gordon get a chance in a advanced central area.
  19. Surely it’s time for the years of unrivalled success bit - surely?!
  20. Innocent until proven guilty and may not be him but… https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/sportsnews/article-9804037/amp/Married-Premier-League-player-arrested-suspicion-child-sex-offences.html
  21. Not really a hard one to justify - in Calvert-Lewin, we have the most lethal aerial finisher in the league over the past few years. We have no out and out wingers to supply this lethal aerial finisher. Our new manager is likely to play with wingers so would obviously like some top top players but these top top players cost a lot of money, which, from overspending on average players, we do not have. Now nobody has said Townsend (or Gray) is their top choice and we all hope we can sell some players to bring in these top top players (who most have never actually seen play but they’re dead good on FIFA and Champ Manager and they cost loads so must be good!) but it makes sense to bring in decent players who offer direct pace (something we lack) and more importantly crosses for DCL (and Richarlison) who can come off the bench rather than bringing on Coleman to make play right wing or a centre back to play full-back and move Digne to left wing or Iwobi to moan about not being in the middle or Sigurdsson to point where someone should have been to cross the ball… we’re not talking about wasting £20m+ on Bolasie, Walcott, Tosun, Sigurdsson, Gomes, Iwobi and we’re not talking about paying them £100k+ a week like Bernard or Sandro - these are competent squad players on short term deals - sensible in my opinion especially when you consider Townsend and Gray combined will cost a third of a Mo Besic! Answer me this - are Townsend and Gray going to have more or less impact off the bench than Bernard and Iwobi? I think more personally as they both have pace and will both run at players. Hindsight shows we should have kept Vlasic and Lookman but we didn’t and we didn’t actually lose money on them anyway.
  22. Theo MK1 would have been a good signing on a free transfer - not the £20m plus we paid.
