QPR have a huge game regarding promotion on the Friday - away to West Brom so this may have fallen quite nicely. I expect it will be a Tuesday game as Sky will already have WBA vs QPR for FNF - IYKWIM.

Played the last 10 with an injury yesterday supposedly - that’s why Rafa took him over to our fans at the end.

Felt a little bit for him last night - he scores a perfectly fine goal which is clearly onside for it it be ruled out. At 2-0 it could have been a very different game. That bit of bad luck and then obviously the petulance with the red (which could have easily been yellow on another day) just sums up his time here. He’s clearly a talent but maybe Everton is not the right club or the Prem is not the right league for him - I still think he’ll leave before the close of this window.

No surprise that we struggled when defending set pieces tonight without Dom and Richarlison.

He could have gone to any of the ‘big 6’ and played in their academy or stayed at us and be behind Digne and Niels but he’s backed himself to get more first-team chances at Southampton - fair play and good luck to him for seeking what he thinks will be his best pathway.

Calvert-Lewin, Stones, Holgate, Coleman and Branthwaite fall into this category. Give me any of these over Tosun, Walcott, Bolasie, Sigurdsson, etc.

Lots of talk that PSG will target Richarlison if they sell Mbappe to Real this window. I’d be gutted to lose him but if there was ever a chance to maximise the fee we receive - this is it.

No he hasn’t - wiki tells you he’s made 7 league starts for Rangers - he’s played more in other comps etc. He’s even a full international. We don’t need an understudy for Coleman; we need someone who is going to replace him. Kenny is never going to be the replacement, so, if this lad is a serious target, I’m sure our scouts have seen enough in him. Let’s not be dismissive of the Scottish leagues - there’s plenty of quality there. I wish we’d have unearthed John McGinn a few years ago.

I’d love Branthwaite to get game time here this season but he’s not likely to get a great deal with 4 ‘senior’ players ahead of him. I’d happily say goodbye to Keane and/or Holgate and if Mina’s not signing a new deal it may make business sense to (sadly) sell him but we’d still be looking to sign a senior centre back to replace any of these. For now, I’d happily take Sarr for a season and let Branthwaite get guaranteed minutes elsewhere.

Branthwaite is but I’d hope he gets a decent loan where he’s 1st choice.

Just watched the whole match on sky - I thought we played really well. It’s not an easy game vs Leeds but add in the first game back with fans in the Prem for them and I’m happy with a point. They bossed possession but we had the better chances and probably deserved all 3 points. Allan was excellent along with Doucoure - long may that partnership continue. Mina impressed me too. Gray and Iwobi (in flashes) were making things happen and all of a sudden we look a very dangerous team.
