  1. Looks a decent player on tonight’s evidence - takes a nice set piece. Brennan Johnson looks a real prospect. Djed Spence (who we’ve previously been linked with) is the one who has really stood out at rb.
  2. I think he’s making reference to Digne/Coutinho - in general, their business has been very good.
  3. Spot on. We would be moaning if we were signing Coutinho on those wages and potentially a £33m fee and if we were signing someone who will be 29 by the end of the season for £20-25m. It a tough one to swallow selling Digne to a ‘rival’ but selling a player on his wages and his age for that fee then bringing in a young rb and lb is much more sustainable than what we’ve done to get us into this mess. Probably should be looking to do the same with one or two from Pickford, Mina, Keane (I wish), Doucoure and Allan over the next 18months.
  4. Just seen that - I’d have preferred he went to Chelsea as they’re already miles ahead of us. Villa are looking comfortably better than us too… just hope we get a decent fee (seen £20-£25m mentioned).
  5. He never played in the Prem - pretty sure he’d have been okay and probably been one of the best players in the world in this era too. I do get what you’re saying - I prefer taller centre backs but it’s not everything - positioning/reading the game can be just as effective if not more.
  6. I think Villa are paying 40% (which is still probably about £100k) and there’s a £33m option. I’m glad we swerved it however well he does. I’ve seen us linked with a loan for Kulusevski - 21 - top prospect - sounds much better to me.
  7. He’s a Kopite… thought I’d check, just in case. From an interview when at Watford: Who was your idol growing up? (Corey) “I get asked this a lot of times. Because of where I grew up, all my family are Liverpool supporters, which is ironic considering I’m at Manchester United, so my idol was probably Steven Gerrard. I used to watch all the games with my Dad and he was the main player who I used to watch and I wanted to be like him. I used to wear the Predators, just like him, and I still do today.”
  8. A Forest fan’s point of view… ’I’ve seen that you set of bastards. Leave him where he is! Yeah he’s decent but not sure he’s ready for your standard just yet.’ I did question whether he’d watched Everton and our standard recently!!!
  9. Better than most/ maybe all of our other back-up options too.
  10. I actually wouldn’t mind him at the right price - good age and looks a prospect to me - a lot of McTommonay (spelling?!) about him.
  11. No but hopefully they can help push the price up a little.
  12. Anyway, it seems the bidding has begun…
  13. We’ve been a very poor team for a long time but Digne keeps producing amongst the best in the league numbers in key areas for his position e.g chances created. He’s class - no question but, with the current manager, in our current state, his age/wage/decreasing value - it makes a lot of sense to sell him. If selling Digne means keeping Richarlison and DCL for a bit longer, then I can cope with that.
  14. Love this quote… ‘I didn’t want to walk away and leave him because the fans are the club.’ This lad is class
  15. Source is probably ‘The Bobble’ and he said he’s a doubt for Hull with a tight thigh so not gone
  16. Seems he’s been on our radar for some time… Tweet from 04/08/20
  17. I’m going back on this now - I don’t want Barkley, I don’t want Coutinho - I want young and hungry players to build with and work with the already experienced senior players (on high wages) we already have e.g. Allan, Doucoure and Gomes in midfield. There’s plenty in the Championship - O’Hare at Coventry, Knight at Derby, Carvalho at Fulham, even Swift (a bit older) at Reading - all would be on a fraction of a Barkley £150k or Coutinho £300k wage - we have made the same mistake over and over again with high earning 28-30 year olds and need to break the cycle.
  18. It’s as if we’ve gone up the street and looked at one of Patterson’s neighbours just in case we don’t get him.
  19. In Tosun’s defence - he went to Palace and there was talk that the deal would have become permanent but got injured and then likewise this time last year at Besiktas where injury ruled out any permanent deal this summer.
  20. As StevO says, we can negotiate an obligation that suits us, should we go down that route. Let’s get this right - Digne is a very saleable asset - he will improve most teams. We do ‘need’ to sell but there will be no shortage of interest from top, top teams for one of the best left backs in world football. January isn’t always the best window to deal in but let’s hope there’s a bit of competence somewhere in our ‘ins and outs’ department where they can structure a deal that allows us to address problems (not all but at least rb/lb and another midfielder) immediately while allowing us to be in a position where we can buy before having to sell in the summer.
  21. He will only go on loan if there’s an obligation to buy - that way, it potentially gives us guaranteed money in the summer window - may be seen as more useful then - we may need extra funds now - I don’t know but HOPE the people running the club do.
  22. …and minus Wilson and ASM they’re significantly worse.
