He wouldn’t be coming here to be back-up. Already Ireland’s first choice - only seen him play once (for Ireland) and googled him as thought he looked decent. It would make business sense to cash in on Pickford this summer as he’s coming off the back of an excellent season and will probably be our player of the season so we could easily justify demanding £50m+.

Disappointing tonight but we’d have all taken needing 4 more points from the remaining 3 - could be even less come 4:30 on Sunday.

I think he’ll start on the bench and rightfully so.

It’s a big if and because of that the contract must be structured (and reduced) to reflect the time he misses but I agree.

The way I see it is Allan is likely to go, hopefully we find a buyer for Gomes, Gbamin - who knows?! Even Doucoure. van der Beek isn’t staying. I’d say Davies (and probably Doucoure) is the only guaranteed central midfielder who’ll be at the club next season so maybe a bit of continuity with Delph will be a necessity.

We’re not blessed with leaders/winners - structure the deal right and I’d happily keep him.

I think his importance has gone a little under the radar but we’ve won 10points in Delph’s last 4 starts.

Fair play to him today - he’s been ill and travelled separately from the rest of the squad but insisted on playing. That attitude is spot on and could see him having a future here when many of us (including me) had written him off.

Radio silence for me after half-time was watching Leeds and kept looking at my phone so put it out of reach and managed to stay busy in the garden for a couple of hours. I didn’t even know it was full-time until my daughter came out shouting COYB!

He’s done really well for Rangers and his attitude (on pitch - don’t know otherwise) seems spot on e.g. Gordon, Coleman. We need more of these characters - there’s more skilful/glamorous players about but we need winners and big personalities to shake this squad up.

We need a left-footed winger to compliment what we already have in Gordon and Gray and then a forward who can play out wide or lead the line if we’re selling Richarlison- which sadly, I think we will.

Maybe his head has been turned or maybe he’s really struggling to regain his match fitness/sharpness - maybe he’s having a hard time mentally getting ‘back to it’. Whatever it is, he’s not at the levels we’d (and probably he’d) like him to be… BUT… he could still be a very valuable asset this season and we need every single player. I don’t care what he does in his spare time - I don’t care if he’s off in the summer but for now every single EFC player needs our support in these last few games to get us out of this mess!

Pickford - no question… BUT… without Mina, I don’t think we win today - he makes the team function so much better and god we’ve missed him!

Yep - they’ve been inconsistent at home but away from home… as said - let’s hope they get 3 points tonight and get all sentimental on Sunday!

I’m that sick of the current state of the Premier League/Super 6 bollocks that relegation and a Championship adventure is almost appealing. What can we realistically hope for if we stay up? It’s such a closed shop in all domestic competitions and I’m sick of the bias towards the ‘top 6 teams’ - maybe the Super League wasn’t such a bad idea. VAR seems to serve the 6, FFP certainly does and the new 5 sub rule probably will too. Part of me hopes that Lampard and his team stay on if we go down and we clear the squad of any high earners e.g Pickford, Mina, Keane, Doucoure, Allan, Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin and just start over again with a big focus on top quality youth and an acceptance that we are a stepping stone in much the same way Dortmund/RB Leipzig and many others conduct themselves.

It’s horrible - just fast forward and whatever will be, will be. Leeds aren’t safe btw - horrible run in.

I felt numb when we scored - couldn’t even muster a fist pump - don’t get me wrong I was back out of my seat for the last few seconds after the equaliser but a point just didn’t seem enough at the time. I was completely deflated after that last night! On reflection though - that point could be massive and it will feel like a win should Burnley shake in the next 2. COYB!!!
