Gerrard has been their match winner in FA cup finals and a European cup final and on many occasions has pretty much single handedly got them there... West Ham, Olyimpiacos and Milan stand-out amongst many, many more.

This. People have quickly forgotten how he was probably our best player in a very poor start to the season... that same form that earned him his first England caps and talk of him being a shoe in for the euro's. I really like Rodwell and want him to be a great player for us.

Always liked him - have they released him as his wages are too high or something else? Right back/mid - decent player but he's struggled with his fitness for the last couple of years I think.

Hard working, versatile midfielder, whose game is based more on a good 1st touch etc, rather than pace and direct running like many wingers.
