  1. Paul Jewell did a much better job at Wigan - no further comment!
  2. Actually I'm going to take that back - they'll be initial hysteria about him going to them and then they'll appoint Martinez or Benitez or old hand from the continent. Moyes will be the initial favourite and the media will cling on to this then it'll soon die down! - I'm sticking with this!!!
  3. Moyes for Pienaar anyone - straight swap? I may shed a tear for Moysie!
  4. I know he's denied it but strong, strong rumours are that he's actually gone now... Moyes haters will get their wish very soon IMO - I personally will be absoloutely gutted!
  5. I know I had to google for a picture!!! I wrote into the show to challenge Dino D (whatever his name was) on a game of Kick Off 2 on the Amiga!
  6. The people needed confirmation from the Quizmaster...
  7. Sadly the above is probably still true!!! http://www.tuttomercatoweb.com/?action=read&id=359915
  8. They've all had dick! Currently manages Russia.
  9. I agree Cahill and Jelavic looked a good pairing but Fellaini and Jelavic looked an even better pairing - that says to me Jelavic plays best with someone who can hold-up/win flick-ons. We need the 'new' teddy sheringham and then Timmy can have the payday he deserves and felli can slot back in. If we don't find that kind of player then I'm quite happy for Cahill to stay or Fellaini to stay in the support role (where he seemed to be playing for Belgium too!)

  11. Not really, your case was you know 10 unsigned players better than Grant Holt. My point was 'wow there tiger he's a premiership footballer, surely they'd playing at SOME level if they're that good or are they really?' Case dismissed!
  12. I'd love him to partner Jelavic - not going to happen though!!! http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/story/_/id/1089310/pavel-pogrebnyak-targeting-prem-stay?cc=5739
  13. Sorry... http://www.themerseyjuror.co.uk/2012/06/07/a-message-to-blue-union-haters/ Will be interesting what people make of this though... I'm swerving it and will see how it looks on Sunday!
  14. Correct, strange that jags mentioned price in the first place (was probably led by qu's) but people are clutching at straws if felli actually goes and they think jags had anything whatsoever to do with it!!!
  15. Are you seriously blaming jags for felli's valuation?! It's not as if Chelsea have been sniffing around before and that sort of price mentioned!!! Do you think if jags had said felli's worth at least £10bn that would make an ounce of difference?!
  16. Sad news, Defoe's dad has also died and he's flown back from the Euro's but says he still intends to play. That would be very brave of him if he decides to go ahead and play.
  17. Does anyone know of a rumoured £26m release clause in Fellaini's contract?
  18. I personally don't tell the children but it usually gets out as all the scouts I've encountered wear an official club name tag (which must be on show) and most come in a club coat or something so it always gets out. The scouts I've encountered will want themselves to be known at these tournaments so they can 'network' with the teachers and coaches.
  19. Jack Butland hasn't and does the 2 minutes Kelly played count as a full cap? It shouldn't!!!

  21. I can only speak for children at primary school age as that's the age I've organised tournaments for and at that age scouts must declare themselves due to child protection issues and they must wear their id. I've had them from wolves, Walsall, baggies and villa. There have been man.utd and even Everton scouts at some though I've been told (not organised by me though unfortunately!)
  22. I personally hope he goes to villa having cost £6m and scores 0 and they go down... but that's more to do with my hatred of Aston Villa. Like Quinn says he'll go to a half decent team and be their starting striker and probably hit double figures again. It may not always be pretty but it ain't half effective - Kevin Davies and many others have been doing it for years.
  23. No, at that price (£4-6m) I don't think he'd be value for money for us nor the type or player we need to partner Jelavic. Maybe at a much lower price he would have been a better option than Straq last season though.
  24. Must be different around here then, I'd get at least one scout at every school tournament I'd organise. We're not talking this level anyway we're talking semi-pro at least if you're saying these lads are good enough for the prem. Teams like chasetown, FC united, marine - they're the teams young players should be having trials at and if they're good enough make the step up from there. 2 lads went from chasetown to port vale a few years back - if they had been food enough then they were on the right platform then to press on.
