He had/has a wand of a left foot - a little before my memory but my dad/grandad would tell me what a great yet sometimes frustrating player he was - so much to the point that my grandad would shout Sheedy if soneone misplaced a pass, etc many years later, my dad still does on occasions even now! In the most part I agree but we've had our defensive unit for a long time now (including gk and full backs) so I think we could probably put any 2 from 3 in. Not many clubs could do that but I think we can.

I think most Blues will agree that Johnny and Distin is our strongest pairing and that Johnny was our strongest defensive player last season.

I can see us bidding for Victor Wanyama from Celtic. No link, no rumour, just have a feeling this is the kind of player Moyes would like.

Problem with that is it doesn't show if someone is the 2nd best player in every match - they would get no votes even though they've probably been our most consistent/best player over the course of the season. Felli/Baines/Jela could have 10 star player games and just pip say Pienaar in each game by 1 vote - Pienaar wouldn't then get the credit he's due (maybe this is where the 3 points for 1st, 2 for 2nd then 1 for 3rd would work.) As mike has said it's a working system at the mo so no need to change especially now the season has already started!

Agree - I want it to be Jags/Johnny but Distin seems to be the main-stay cb. Performances like last night justify Moyes' decision but a case could obviously be made for Johnny based on last year (should be a dead cert starter to be honest!) It's a bit fishy our player of the year being on the bench!

Don't want him sold but the 3 won't all fit in and I doubt jags/Distin would go/ attract fees/interest. It's the reality of the situation, that's how we progress - 1 step back to take 2 steps forward. Ideally jags and johnny would work but it's clear it's one with Distin - I prefer johnny as an all round player to be honest but both are top class options who would get into most teams. It may be nonsense anyway but it wouldn't surprise me to see johnny go.

If there's anything in this then £10m must be the minimum on the basis of Dawson to QPR. It's safe to say spurs will move fast as they've just sold 2 cb's. Will that be fast enough for us to have money in the bank for Johnson? I don't want johnny gone especially to spurs but can we keep Distin, jags and johnny happy? The only way we can is with johnny in mid! If the money is good and means strenthening elsewhere then I may eventually get over this!

Young, English, happy to bench warm at a much bigger club (with hope of breaking through), big wage increase, better training facilities - very similar to when they signed Adam Johnson - I expect the same ending in a couple of years for Sinclair.

Said that same thing to my mate last night. The only better player at bossing the middle at the moment is Toure... if Man.Utd/Chelsea want to pass Citeh this year then Fellaini would be the player they should (not in the eyes of myself and all blues) be looking at. He is that good and we're not just talking about last night. I've said in the past players like Gerrard are more complete but he's been doing it for a lot longer - Fellaini is certainly on course (and I think this is what Bill's trying to say).

It's how WBA did it with Davies - money in the bank gets taxed, if they don't want the money to spend this summer it makes sense to loan him out and get the money next summer.
