  1. Livermore looks a very good prospect to me - I'd have him but they'd be silly to sell him. Townsend looks very handy too but will be banned for sometime after his betting on matches.
  2. I'd take £20m + Ramsey, tidy player who I think would flourish at us much like Gibson has and many didn't want him.
  3. I know Jones is highly regarded and he was linked with the Swansea job (I think?) prior to Laudrup's acceptance.
  4. These seem the most likely... GK - Joel Def - Alcatraz Mid - McGeady Att - Kone They wouldn't be my choices but to build the squad I would be okay with this. I think 'marquee' signings will be signed only in the event of Felli and/or Baines leaving.
  5. His friends run his twitter - it was tweeted some time ago.
  6. On the 3/4 signings - I see it as 3 or 4 should noone leave, can see it being a fair few more should players go.
  7. £5m is not a lot if he's going to stay fit and give us 5 years. I sure as hell would have loved him last season after seeing him play but the fact is they took the punt on him at £2m so the extra £3m is the price we pay now he's scored a few and looked decent in the prem. There are no guarantees in football, we could sign Bony for £10m and everyone would rave but he may wind up to be awful and we have to sell him at a loss... I'm not overly concerned by Kone's re-sale as if he gives us anywhere near what Distin has then it's money we'll spent. Who's to say anyway that he'll be the only striker that we sign?
  8. Baines should be playing champions league football - that's why I think we'll sell him this summer. He either needs to sign a 5yr deal or be sold - with him turning 29 in the next season he needs to be moving this summer if we want any benefit from the deal or he needs to commit his long term future. He won't push for the move but I don't think we'll stand in the way either if an acceptable offer comes in. I don't want him to go but can see why he would and will respect whatever choices he makes. I don't think it's about money with Baines for one minute, it'll be about wanting to play at the highest level in the Champions League where he may also feel it could help him cement his England spot with this experience and the ManU factor!!!
  9. Heitinga wants out, when on-form he's brilliant and dare I say a Martinez type player but he's got his mind made up, one more big move in Europe before his swan song back at Ajax. I like him but he had a poor season overall, maybe part of that is to do with not being in favour, maybe because of the rumoured broken down move last summer, regardless with 12 months to go on his contract we need to sell ASAP (unless he wants a 2yr contract extension on lower wages!!!)
  10. An unknown South American right back at a couple of million is hardly going to pull at the purse strings at ManU!!! We've got to count every penny here so Martinez will make his moves when he's fully assessed what needs addressing.
  11. Moyes officially leaves tomorrow and Martinez returns from USA and takes full reign. There will be action this week - maybe backroom staff first then the players (and I expect a fair few) will start coming. I think Alcaraz will be the first signing.
  12. He's just back from his holiday so his future may be sorted/more clear this week.
  13. Forgot about that, remember the Birmingham 3-0 Villa where Enckleman let it under his boot from a throw in back to him but the ref judged he touched it so the goal was given! I enjoyed spending that night out with a bunch of villa fans!!!

  15. I don't think for one minute we'll sign him, he'll be off to Milan. I find it strange that the stories of our pursuit break in Italy with Sky Italia, this suggests there's interest in Italy which points to Milan!!!

    Eye Test

I only saw 3 F's but I'm a genius so the test is flawed!
  17. The ref suspects he is cheating and gives a corner rather than the goal and sends Walters off!
  18. I'd be happy with say Lee and Redmond - gives us pace in Mirallas and Redmond then craft from Pienaar and Lee - good depth and options in my opinion.
  19. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-transfer-news-keisuke-honda-2006793 I hope so.
  20. My thoughts exactly. It's easy to get caught up in the hysteria of paper talk but as you say there is no official line.
  21. I'm sure he'll know what he needs but I'm also sure he'd like to get to know the players and work with them before acting too hastily.
  22. Very clever if so... Anxious to avoid being caught out by a pre-deadline approach and left without enough time to find an adequate replacement, Everton insisted on limiting the duration of the clause when negotiating Fellaini's current contract. To the consternation of Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who is still weighing up the financial implications of meeting the buy-out figure and personal terms, Everton will be at liberty to reject any offers for their in-demand midfielder after August 15. But it's from the daily fail so will take with a fistful of salt!
  23. Martinez has yet to train with the squad. He'll have an idea of what we need but he needs to at least meet the players as a group. He'll know we need more depth so will go with what he knows at a modest price e.g Kone, Alcatraz, who won't be automatic starters. If Martinez is going to buy big though he'll need to assess what needs addressing most, which I don't think he can do without getting to know everyone. The window opens next week, the 1st teamers are back over the next fortnight - it's very, very early.
