  1. Seems expensive to me! Not Premiership class, should do well in the Championship. He had his 5 minutes when he 1st came onto the scene but in my opinion he's looked a really limited player since.
  2. £20 anytime return if there's 3 or 4 going on any London-Midland service to Lime Street. I often use this. About £5 taxi to the ground when you're up there or just jump on the soccerbus for a couple of quid.
  3. A lot has got to do with annual wage expenditure and of course the initial boost of £££ as a team comes into the EPL. Cardiff's annual wage will be at least £10m less than ours I would imagine - teams like Stoke spent big on their arrival to the EPL but now you see they're having to be a bit tighter as their wages are growing. Yes it is sickening to see teams go out and spend this and some do with even a higher wage expenditure than us but all in all we do spend a lot of money but a lot of it is on players we already have.

    Real Betis

Hopefully jet lag played it's part today and our players were off the pace due to tiredness... am I clutching at straws for positives?! To be fair Betis looked very bright and they would be a really strong team if they could add a natural goal scorer. Overall a really exciting and testing pre-season with the positives outweighing the negatives. I do feel we need at least 2 more players and that's before Fellaini goes (which I think is looking almost enevitable) but I'm optimistic enough and am looking forward to the big kick off... COYB!!!

    Real Betis

    Agree completely.

    Real Betis

That was a horrible half of football and if our players don't get used to this new system quick then it'll be a slow start! All Betis need to do is press our possession and we'll give it back to them. I'm all for keeping possession and wearing teams down but there certainly needs some tweaking or reinvesting in clientele. Thankfully this is a friendly but still with the EPL kick off 6 days away this is worrying.
  7. I recognise the chap on the left from Gangs of New York and the chap on the right from American History X - 2 of my favourite films... but not a clue what this film is although it looks very familiar...
  8. Carrick was great at Spurs and I remember us fans wanting him here when he left West Ham.

  10. The story in tomorrow's Guardian is £30m for Baines and Fellaini. This will thankfully be fish and chip paper come Friday. It's a non-story. Yes United/Moyes probably want them but for that... nonsense! Remember Kenwright/Kenshite (for those who don't know him as the former) got £24m for Lescott 'but he said he'd get £50m for Rooney!' - maybe he learnt a lesson and to be fair £28m wasn't awful!!! Anyway, we're not accepting £30m for our 2 'best' players especially when Bale and Suarez are setting such high benchmarks!
  11. Carrick and Fellaini playing behind Kagawa could be an excellent central midfield. I don't understand the stick Carrick gets, very steady in the deeper mid role - excellent in possession.
  12. Owen Coyle? Scottish yes but he played for Eire...
  13. I think that's right but can't think of his name - that'll be annoying!!!
  14. Confident on Mols and/or Aviladze (Georigian chap)... just had a Rangers Champ Manager flashback - them 2 up top - Albertz and Ferguson in the middle, Lovenkrands/R De Boer on the wings, Amorouso, Craig Moore, Gio Van B and De Boer at the back... Actually thinking about it wasn't Laudrup in Scots prem for a while?!
  15. Scott McDonald, Stokes, Robbie Keane (did he manage a whole season?), Mixu Pattalinen, Lovenkrands.
  16. http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/331096/Everton-move-for-Luca-Marrone-as-Marouane-Fellaini-looks-set-for-Manchester-United From what's said above £6m would be a snip. 4/5 quality players in this bracket including the lad from Ajax would be a lot more valuable to us than a want away Fellaini.
  17. Even in the same language some instructions can be hard to follow, especially when the message is interrupted by something else going on, in this case a football match.
  18. Club officials on twitter said it was more Gerard didn't understand what was being asked of him and Martinez was trying to explain it to him which I can't imagine being easy during a match!
  19. Heitinga has actually said he wants one more move (payday) before returning to Ajax that's why a rumour I've just heard on talksport could have something to it... Al Ahli in Dubai? Came from Warren Haughton who does their transfer round up - is he usually reliable?
  20. I hadn't heard of him up until yesterday! Ten seems to be the resident foreign talent expert, he may know something?

  22. Lucky we've got John 'better than Pirlo' Stones then!!!
