I can see Spurs signing another striker tomorrow and once again spending BIG!!! Think it will be at the expense of Adebayor though - maybe a loan to a rich Russian/Middle Eastern club will be the only way to get him off the pay role. It wouldn't surprise me if Spurs are linked to Torres, Rooney, Benzema, Ibrahimovic and Suarez (in that order) once the Bale saga is officially closed! (isn't Falcoa on the move already too?!)

Defoe would be a massive improvement on all of our strikers. It's not happening though. Spurs would be silly to get rid with only Soldado, him and Adebayor as 'natural' strikers. Basically this is a non-starter.

I don't think Oviedo is ready but I think Bertrand would be a better investment with a few years Prem experience behind him, especially in the current system where there will be plenty of chances to get forward. I can't see Ekotto playing far into his 30s - sure he was quoted as saying he doesn't really like football, it's just a job!

I personally don't think a great deal of him.

Good analysis Newty82... the main thing for me is Martinez is doing what he does (I'm all for this) but with Moyes' players who have been used to a totally different style. Martinez needs to bring in his own players and the only way he can do this is to sell Fellaini and/or Baines. The sale of Fellaini doesn't worry me as I know we can get quality in to replace him. The sale of Baines does worry me, if Danny Rose/Ryan Bertrand were to replace him then I'd be a little less worried.
