  1. Anyone seen/heard of Gueïda Fofana? Link via toffeeweb. French, physical defensive midfielder at Lyon, 22 years old. He fits the brief for me but does anyone know if he's actually any good?
  2. He's bloody injured for a month!!! http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/west-ham/10580946/.html
  3. Are we going to get anyone better in this window? Probably not. If this does go through then Bobby will hopefully be quick in his business in the summer as we'll need 2 strikers in quickly. He sounds just what we need so this deal excites me!
  4. This could actually be done already... Journo with 100k followers. @Smudge1962: West Ham erupt with fury after Lacina Traore undergoes medical and agrees to join the Hammers only to walk out and sign for Everton instead @Smudge1962: @moefoe11 Yes the deal has gone through. Speculation has been rumbling throughout the afternoon but the deal has now been completed
  5. http://hereisthecity.com/en-gb/2014/01/16/everton-keen-on-genoas-soprano/ If anyone sees any decent odds on him coming then it's got to be worth a tenor.
  6. I think there's a lot of hype about him to be honest, he's had a few very good games and got a lot of publicity because of this. He seems selfish to me - it can be a good quality but he just seems too selfish and as a result it negatively impacts on the team. I know he's had behavioural difficulties but I do think it's telling that we're only talking about Fulham who are in for him when he's clearly available at a decent(ish) price for such a prospect.
  7. I'd prefer Lallana and now may be the time to strike with the chaos going on at Southampton!!! He'd be expensive but if there was any way to sort it, it should be! On Morrison - he's got talent but there's a lot of work to do. His decision making seems very poor - ridiculous that many non-Evertonians talk of him being on par with Barkley - no chance!!! I really like Diame and believe he still has a release clause.
  8. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-transfer-news-kenwyne-jones-3019975 Hopefully not!
  9. I've thought he was overrated up til the last few games where he's started to look a real prospect.
  10. Echo journo Tony Scott has just mentioned Oriel Riera as a possible target. Never heard of him - had to google him to check it wasn't the one at Liverpoo (Albert).
  11. I can see him being really important actually - Barry should hopefully sign and another dcm but we do need 4, especially with Barry getting on a bit and us having 2 games most weeks (Tues/Wed alternate!) next season...
  12. Monaco have just signed Traore so this chap could be surplus.
  13. Where's that from? He sounds perfect. A few twitter whispers about Martinez wanting Hernandez in the summer too.
  14. He's meant to be fast as lightning - played a lot at dcm for ressies too. Maybe similar to a young Micah Richards, who was brilliant (still could be).
  15. Fee is rising to £7m with add-ons... I'd imagine Hull's survival being one which is pretty certain in my opinion. They've got a spine of very good players in McGregor, Davies, Huddlestone/Livermore and now Jela.
  16. Pepe Mel is the new WBA head coach... his 1st game in charge is against us.
  17. Good for him... sad that it's headline news but it was always going to be.
  18. I'd have the Ashley Young from his Villa days - he was excellent (and pretty consistent if memory serves).
  19. Said somewhere before that 95-96 was and still is my favourite season as an Evertonain - we were brilliant... favourite player - Joe Parkinson. We missed out on Europe to Arsenal on the final day, remember listening for the scores on 5 live after seeing us beat Villa in the brand spanking new Park End! Royle had Torre Andre Flo lined up for £1m (ish) to play alongside Big Dunc (and another Norwegian bloke too) - Johnson blocked this, Royle was soon gone. Sure he had a deal for Dublin lined up previously too - £1m again! I have shown a lot of gratitude to the Moyes era but what I will say is this season is the first, playing wise, which is matching up to that 95-96 season. Finishing 4th, euro runs and Wembley trips were all brilliant under Moyes but that 95-96 season still stands out for style and enjoyment of watching EFC. Let's judge Martinez over the season though... he'd be the first to admit that he hasn't achieved anything yet. Moyes left him a fantastic platform on which Roberto is building on with style - he's 20 odd games into a 5 year plan! Finally, James McCarthy reminds me so much of Joe Parkinson - Joe Parkinson could have gone so much further, no joke for people who didn't have the pleasure to watch him but he was in the Roy Keane bracket and on the brink of a first England cap for his career to be cruelly cut short.
  20. A better first touch and more awareness with the ball. Can't fault him for effort and the knack of popping up with a goal or 2 but he lacks real quality. Don't get me wrong I respect the job he does for us but if I'm totally honest I just don't think he's very good.
