  1. Begovic will be off in the summer (best keeper in the prem in my opinion) so it'll be interesting to see if Butland is number one or they look to someone like Marshall or Ikeme who will be in Championship but could definitely step up.
  2. Would you have been happy to see SG lift the tittle if he had got the move to Chelsea that he wanted a few years ago?
  3. "It's not about improving - it's about increasing." Spot on... obviously we need to improve 1 or 2 areas but generally this summer must be about getting those extra bodies in which obviously must be of high quality but not necessarily better than what we have already. My example would be Jack Colback... if we had signed him in Jan we would probably be closer to 4th. McCarthy/Barry have needed a rest - this proved costly against Palace, Colback could have slotted straight in for either. He's not as good as either but he would do a better job there than playing Osman/Barkley in an unfamiliar withdrawn role. We need quantity of a certain quality in the summer generally but real quality in attack!
  4. I don't want Liverpool to win the league but more than that I DO want Everton to win every game. If West Ham beat Spurs on Sat then we'd only need a point for 5th now 4th is all but gone. Best case scenario for me is we beat City and Palace beat Liverpool. As for the Chelsea 'anti-football' - they could end up with a league and champs league double, Mourinho is brilliant, each game should be set up for to get a result - fair play to Chelsea if anything. They'll be tough to beat next season when Jose has got his preferred strikers in.
  5. Too right... they'll lose at Palace anyway - I may put a cheeky £10 on Chelsea to win the league and us vs city/palace vs shite.
  6. They are stronger and quicker than us in all areas... 45mins to keep our dreams alive.
  7. Pretty sure our first sight of another 16 year old was on the bench (unused) away to Southampton - he's done alright!
  8. Saints 1 - 2 Everton Naismith Almost forgot!
  9. Why don't you start a thread in general football... "Ten's scouting thread." To be honest I think this thread should just be loose links to EFC. Keep doing what you're doing though, makes for interesting reading.
  10. Spurs were in for him too - he wanted to link back up with Roberto though.
  11. Mirallas... obviously Coleman was great too. Special mention for Stones who was much better defensively after midweek. McCarthy gets my final mention as basically he could get my vote every game. Joe Parkinson is my favourite ever Everton player (just ahead of Big Dunc)... McCarthy is so similar and then some to Parkinson - love him!
  12. My dad seems to think Brad Pitt will be in it. Best tv I've seen in a long, long time!
  13. Exactly this apart from I know how to vote on my i-phone and went with Ross.
  14. He makes a lot of mistakes but thankfully they're not all punished - I expect him to make mistakes and Martinez 'allows' him to as it will happen with any young centre back. I'm not criticising him negatively, I'm stating facts. I want him in the team but our best cb pairing defensively is Jags/Distin and with all our attacking players today that would have been the best pairing but obviously Jags wasn't available. Hence, we missed Jags today.
  15. What stood out was Stones' composure on the ball, which was incredible at times... but the thing that lost it tonight was we let them score 3 goals from 4/5 attacks - yes we didn't have the usual extra protection from Barry/McCarthy combo but his job primarily is to defend and Jags is our best defender. Stones is brilliant but he's still very raw defensively.
  16. We needed Jags tonight... far too much standing off in defence. Really poor atmosphere until 0-1, then 1-2 and 2-3. Roberto was bold in his selection - he knew they'd sit back but it resulted in us only playing down the flanks with only Rom in the box, we needed Naismith with him from the start and we desperately need more strikers (which we all know). Hats off to Palace... I think we've just been Pullised!!! On Pullis, I would put him in the top 3 with Rodgers and Martinez for manager of the season - he's worked a miracle at Palace.
  17. I can see us going 3 at the back as he did at Wigan when all 3 cb's are fit.
  18. Everton 3 - 0 Palace Naismith
  19. 6 points in the next week would see us in an almost unbelievable position!
  20. Sunderland 1 - 3 Everton Baines
  21. Resting Lukaku would be a huge mistake... if we want top 4 then we need him on the pitch for as much time as possible!
