Can I suggest that rather than lock linked players who go elsewhere move them to general sport/football as signed players move to our EFC section? It will enable discussion to continue about players linked, e.g. I'm sure the Rodwell topic would still be active in the general area.

Think he'd be an excellent signing at the right price. Will add extra versatility to our systems - he's comfortable at rb, can play cb as a 2 or 3. I imagine he could fill in in a dm role too if required. He's also excellent in both boxes on set pieces - an area (particularly attacking) where we lacked last season.

Got to say that I also see him as a player who could fulfil a similar role to Pienaar here.

I don't think anything can be read into pre-season games. Players want to avoid injury and get through games - it's a fitness/sharpness exercise. Porto were clearly further through their pre-season with an upcoming champs league qualifier for them.

You're an Evertonian mate, wear whatever shirt you want and stay true to what you believe. Be yourself, we're a very welcoming group. If you are planning on starting on the beers early, maybe drink around the lime street station area then it'll be easy to get a taxi to Goodison or even hop on the special match day bus. If you want to get served quickly for a few beers then I recommend the taxi club but you'll get a better atmosphere at the brick and 'the people's pub' (Wimslow Hotel). Decent food at the hot wok - often go for a prematch meal there, decent to eat in with a few beers too.

We need a Guidetti type striker who will challenge Rom and share the load over a potentially very busy season. Someone who I would have (many wouldn't) is Wickham. He's still very young and in the final year of his contract a SAFC (seems to be haggling a little). He seems to have finally filled out and in the 2nd half of last season actually began to live up to his early hype. If we could get for £4m-£5m then I could see it being an interesting/potentially good move with little risk (because of his age).

From the Coventry telegraph... Everton manager Roberto Martinez has turned his attentions to securing MK Dons starlet Brendan Galloway after signing Belgian star Romelu Lukaku. The Toffees spent £28m on recruiting the Chelsea man yesterday and now want to recruit Galloway in a bargain deal. Galloway is currently involved in a contract dispute at the Dons with the Stadium:MK club desperate to get suitable compensation for their homegrown talent, valuing him at £1million.

The press conference may be to present 2 Belgians.
