Would you change your opinion if you knew he was 27? The amount of times he's played for Man U isn't to be sniffed at to be fair to him.

I don't necessarily think either are what we'll be looking for but both should be considered for England. I see them as very similar 'old-fashioned centre backs' who don't get the recognition they deserve.

He's a very solid defender - defensively better than Smalling/Jones who are dead certs in the England squad. He like Shawcross aren't at fashionable clubs so don't get the recognition they probably deserve. Where he may lack is with his short distribution from the back but defensively (and as a goal threat at set pieces) he's spot on.

I've not disputed this, in fact drag up last summers striker talk and you'll see I thought £28m would have been better spent on Benteke. Injury or no injury, up to Sherwood taking over he was poor this season. Today he was shite.

One was outside the box and the other was soft at best (looked like it had gone out already anyway)... Even with 2 pens (should he have scored them), he was totally dominated today. I like him and mentioned him as maybe a better option to Rom at that price but there's no denying that he was shite today and has been for a lot of this season!

There is an arrogance about Rangers but there's no denying that they are a club with a massive fanbase and the SPL is a lot, lot, lot, lot, lot better for having them in the league. In my opinion the SPL without the Glasgow derby is pointless - I've paid hardly any attention over the past couple of years. Previously I quite enjoyed it... I used to follow it closely when Rangers had Gazza etc and their Dutch revolution and Celtic had Larsson.

They've won it 4 times in the last 10 years now - impressive stuff! May be worth £10 on them retaining it next year.
