  2. Henderson should be sitting behind Barkley and Wiltshire with a front 3 of Walcott, Sterling and Rooney for the qualifier - at least then there's the potential of something happening. I'd be gutted if I was Clynne or even Trippier watching Jones at rb... He didn't do anything wrong but it's not a progressive decision - it's as if we've set-up for a draw in a friendly. Nothing learnt today!
  3. He has, always does for Ireland - why doesn't it happen for him at club level?! It was always going to be an uninspiring England performance with that line-up - very poor!

  5. Him or Kone though? I would prefer a potentially very good young player on a free (obviously wages/sign on) to put pressure on Lukaku rather than Kone. Beckford came and did okay for us on a free and we managed to get £6m(?) for him so it'd be risk free in my opinion.
  6. Bit disrespectful... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/john-guidetti-leave-celtic-because-5827944
  7. On a free, in a heartbeat. He's had a good season at Celtic after not such a good spell at Stoke but he's still young and missed a lot of football with his illness - definitely worth a punt. Offer Kone around for £1-2m and give Guidetti his wages and Lukaku his squad number.
  8. http://www.everton.vitalfootball.co.uk/article.asp?a=401819 From the article... Could this create a chance for Everton to make a permanent move in the summer for him? Previous figures in the media have suggested he could be available for around £8million.
  9. I like the fact that he clearly wanted to come here last summer and he's stuck to his guns. Having players who actually want to be here can only benefit us and I think we've got a good core who genuinely do. Of course there'll be players who see us as a stepping stone but as long as they give 100% (because anything more is impossible!!!) when they are here then I have no problem with that. All in all I think Cleverley will do well here and genuinely feel he would have been very useful this season in the absence of Pienaar/Osman.
  10. Pretty much exactly what I was going to post in reply.
  11. There goes the illusion of MikeO actually being a 21yr old blonde bombshell from Sweeden... well it was nice while it lasted!
  12. Sorry to keep harping on about this but there's another example today... I wanted to post in the Milner thread but it's locked. Can't it just be moved to General Football now? I'm sure there's still discussion about him and other players that will end up elsewhere. Anyway, I was going to post... £150k a week is ridiculous, even if I do rate him (and think he'll do well there) but still. Also read that his sign on could be close to £10m - surely not?!?!
  13. He'll play him in the Pienaar/Osman role which we've missed for most of the season.
  14. Very interesting way of looking at it... http://toffeetv.net/should-everton-use-the-tv-money-on-real-world-costs/ It has worked at Arsenal but at a higher level... would it work for us?
  15. No, the only thing you've missed is my sarcasm - spot on with the rest!
  16. Ambitious prick! I wish he'd say his ambition was to play in a mid-table Everton team.
  17. To me and many Big Dunc is a legend. He's clearly nowhere near the quality of the likes of Dean, Ball, Southall, Labone, etc. but for those, like me, who went regularly in the late 90s/early 00s then no explanation is needed. He was at times the only thing to get excited about, usually the only person worth singing about. Maybe a cult figure is more apt but I get the Big Dunc, Everton legend shouts.
