  1. McGeady is rivalling Claus Thomsen and Brett Angell for my least favourite ever Everton player!
  2. Pennington is an interesting one. He looked decent vs Leeds pre-season and was very highly regarded at Coventry - would have been their player of the year had he not just been a loanee was a Cov consensus I saw somewhere. Naturally a centre back but needs to fill out a bit so will be interesting to see how he does as a RB back-up option.
  3. Agree, if he was to stay £50-60k would be 'fair' based on what I would guess our pay structure is.
  4. If we win Stones will 100% get MOTM just so Sky can get their interview.
  5. Hold on tight, these rumours are creeping back after quotes that he'll leave on a free next summer if a deal can't be sorted before the window closes. Other quotes claim he wants a move to the Prem.
  6. They may need the money now. We may have the stance that we're keeping him this year and he may be worth more come next summer. Giving Barnsley say £5m now may save us money long term and settle Stones for longer if, as Barnsley fans believe, he is one of their own.
  7. It'll be Moses if anyone. I'd much prefer Remy obviously!
  8. You can't blame the lad to be fair... "Chelsea are offering the 21-year-old a five-year deal worth around £125,000 a week - four times his wages at Everton."
  9. What I want is EFC to publically say no as it's too late in the window. This season is too important for Stones with the Euros next summer so if he does mope about (which I'd hope he wouldn't) then it'll be to his detriment. We'll be in the position then to plan on the expected in-comings next summer or at least in January when the market is even more inflated! Sorry John but Everton hold all the aces here.
  10. Stones upfront for me... he'll be untouchable, no one will go near him. Injure him and you'll cost Barnsley £5-6m!
  11. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/600767/Everton-Transfer-News-Roberto-Martinez-John-Stones-Chelsea-Bernard
  12. Potentially Reading away in the 3rd round.
  13. This will be his 1st full season as 1st choice alongside Jags, he's still learning. Look at Zouma; one of the brightest defensive prospects in world football before he sat on Chelsea's bench. I hope for your sake Stones can kick on but he won't have time to make the mistakes of which he's made plenty of here. It's a year too soon in my opinion. A couple of bad games and he could fall out of favour with Jose, someone who doesn't give many second/third chances; Cuardado being the latest example. Stay here, prove that you're one of the best in the league/Europe, go to the Euros as 1st choice for club and country. He could have his pick beyond Chelsea next summer. On the topic of Holgate, I'm sure he'll become 'one of your own' should his career kick on and maybe produce another big sell-on percentage one day - us football fans are a fickle bunch!
  14. Probably more than that in reality. You're obviously proud of Stones, rightfully so. We took him far beyond what he could ever have been at Barnsley and Chelsea should continue that progression. What are your thoughts should sitting on the bench stall his progression? My thoughts are, you're more excited about the £5m odd sell-on coming your way. I think the best move for Stones' development/ EFC is one more season here and that would probably bring more money to Barnsley. Out of interest, if you could pick a club for him to join, who would it be (obviously not Barnsley)? How's Adam Davies getting on? He's one of our own.
  15. Reported in the local papers now. Seems pretty specific on details. http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/confirmed-john-stones-hands-transfer-9927193
  16. I can actually see this being resolved by us giving him a new contract with say £60k rather than £30k per week and adding a high Champions League club release clause.
  17. Moses as part of the deal then - no need for Yarmolenko! ?
  18. Yes but he won't get a loyalty fee based on the remainder of his contract.
  19. I think he's a lot better all round than Oscar. I think Willian's got the lot.
  20. He looks like Hazard to me! Let's hope he plays like him!
  21. We will but not to the degree many of us would have liked/expected. The fact that we've not sold and added Cleverley/Deulofeu (with more on the way) will result in a stronger squad. There's still work to be done and I do fear another frustrating season if these areas aren't.
  22. If Ogabonna was plan A it may not be such a bad thing.
