Toss up between Besic, Barry and Baines for me. Besic just edged it. Some of his through balls were excellent - when others switch on to them it'll be a very dangerous weapon. He looks the real deal now, a lot more responsible with the ball and excellent tackler.

Gaz Baz... once again dictated the tempo. He's done exactly what a player at the top of their game in his position should do this season e.g Dunga, Matic (last season), Makalele. Player of the season for me despite Lukaku, Barkley and Geri - won't get the headlines like these but is equally important.

I think Spurs are stronger and have a lot more quality as back up. I'd say it's a toss up between us and the shite but once again I think they've got better depth especially in attacking areas. United are a shambles but I'm sure they'll throw more money are the situation. We are crying out for Wayne Rooney in my opinion - someone who knows how to turn these draws into wins; a leader and a winner - Kone's done a great job but imagine Rooney in his role. That (and a reliable keeper) would secure a top 4 place. Is Rooney coming back realistic? I think it's more realistic now than it's ever been in the past.

Gerry, Ross and Rom will get all the headlines but I believe Gaz Baz is the reason we're such an attacking force this season. His performances have allowed our match winners to express themselves in the way that they are. He was excellent again yesterday.

Played full game vs Brazil and was excellent by all accounts. Had a snidy kick out which looked nasty on Alves in retaliation. Not bad for our 3rd choice centre back!

He's been dropped from the squad today - seems more down to him leaving rather than form. Think we'll definitely be in for him as rb seems an area where Roberto wants to strengthen. I don't think the Brazilian lad will ever be an option, more of take a cheap chance and see if we can sell him on for a bit if we can get him fit.

Agree but just have the feeling that Stones/Rom will move on at the end of the season unless we do something great on the pitch (top 4 or a cup) or we get taken over and really show our intentions in the transfer market.

Rooney wouldn't be cheap even on a free. He'd still probably become our highest ever earner if he was to come in the next year or 2. I think we'll see a much better Rooney than we're seeing currently - I think he needs a change to reinvigorate his career.
