  1. Usmanov rumours are rife on Twitter - pure speculation but a lot of it makes sense.
  2. I know of most of the players, they're just not household world renowned names - similar to Leicester in many ways but proven quality year after year.
  3. He certainly gets the best out of players... no real household names in that Sevilla team and won the Europa 3 years on the bounce now. That Carrico was back-up at Reading before he went to Sevilla.
  4. Funny!!! https://twitter.com/ceiberfox/status/733045162700607490
  5. I want youth to be a focus but not by throwing them straight in the starting xi more replacing the older squad players with what we've got and then bringing in top quality elsewhere. Kenny -> Hibbert Davies -> Gibson Dowell -> Osman Swiss kid -> Pienaar We could easily spend £20m on replacing 4 players who have barely kicked a ball between them this season (bar Osman). I'd prefer to put the trust in what we've got and spend big on improving the starting xi.
  6. Off to the Shite... http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-swoop-former-man-city-11341802
  7. I thought Orlando Trustfull was a familiar name - ex Sheff Wed having now googled him.
  8. If we got De Boer or Koeman I'd expect us to be in for Wijnaldum. I'd love him here - classy player. Possibly some of the other Dutch lads at Newcastle too - I like Janmaat. De Boer will know De Jong well too from his Ajax days - done nothing in the Prem though. I liked Krul but he may struggle to get back to that level with his injuries.
  9. Could do but it could also mean the Southampton hierarchy are covering themselves/ providing some positives before his imminent departure.
  10. Many Watford fans have moaned about his stubbornness tactically...
  11. Thanks... as I said, I was judging him at Chelsea. Don't get me wrong, I'd love him here but development through the academy is a must for me. Something that makes our club stand out and something we've been good at over the years.
  12. I had a look myself... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3317277/Jose-Mourinho-s-abysmal-record-promoting-youth-players-exposed-Sportsmail-reveals-handed-just-five-starts-Chelsea-academy-starlets.html
  13. Correct they've sold - not disputing that. I said they're not short of money... FACT. They have very rich owners although I don't know the ins and outs since the billionaire owner died.
  14. He hasn't during his 2 spells at Chelsea. That's what I'm judging him on.
  15. To be fair Southampton aren't short of £££. EFC have a bigger fan base and the North West is a more competitive footballing area... always feel Southampton being 'out the way' can make it less attractive. I don't necessarily think he's a realistic target but there's been talk of him stalling on a new deal for a long time now - we'll see. Only draw back on him would be if he brought Sammy Lee. Overall I just want a manager who will motivate our players, get them fit and play pressing and tactically flexible football.
  16. Koeman over any other for me. I'd even have him over Jose (however unrealistic) on the basis that Koeman seems to give more youngsters a chance, an area we are strong and should not overlook. I'd fear Jose wouldn't bring through some of the top potential we have on the brink of breaking through. Pellegrini is a big no from me. Can see him making the same defensive mistakes that we've been making under Martinez.
  17. Walt in goal and Jesus at right back?! Talk about square pegs in round holes... MikeO out!
  18. Further to this... https://twitter.com/svenclaes/status/728461440193990657
  19. I agree but wasn't he on the back row because he'd given up his seat for the Hillsborough mum? He's been beside Bill the other matches when I've noticed.
