He's going to be one of the most beneficial players from having Koeman here in my opinion. He's arguably just had his best season in his short career but there is room for so much improvement - mainly defensive work rate - I've seen evidence already that Koeman is beginning to influence Ross' game and long may it continue.

I disagree on the aggression - think he's worked back a lot harder today. We need Gueye in there to win the ball back quicker and constantly harass the opposition - something Barry and McCarthy can't do. Ross will improve even more with this type of player working 'for' him.

In talks with Cahill, Hibbert and Osman too... he made an enquiry about Marcus Bent but Strangeways have rejected any offers.

I think he looks a top prospect and would love him here but can't see Citeh entertaining the thought of selling such a good prospect. Can see him getting a fair few opportunities as second fiddle to Aguero.

If they are adding a player to make up £10m we should be demanding Begovic. Remy excites me as much as Kone - would have liked him in the past but he's been bit part for too long. There's better and 'hungrier' out there. If we were to have an attacking player then I'd have Traore - top prospect who could actually improve us.

No squad numbers for McGeady, Niasse and Garbutt. Sad for Garbutt, thought he may develop into a decent player - still may at the right club playing regularly.

Not scraping the barrel at all - Williams and Fonte have been two of the most consistent CB performers over the past 2/3 years. Bringing in say Martins Indi to play alongside Mori (with Stones outgoing and Jags struggling for fitness) is a much bigger risk that one of these. If Martinez had brought Williams in (who we've been linked to in the past) then maybe he would have had a bit more success as defensive organisation was a clear flaw in Roberto's era.

By no means world beaters (although Fonte has just won the Euros) but will hugely improve us defensively. We need improvement now, we need to hit the ground running - either one will slot straight in. Age is no issue in this case as they won't break the bank so resale won't matter plus as they potentially decline in say 2 seasons time I'd hope Galloway and or Holgate are ready to step up. Which realistic centre back targets excite you Bill?

That's not the point. We're a shambles at the back and need someone in the Williams/Fonte mold to organise things. If there's a young Adams or Terry out there get them in but there's no one who springs to mind. As mentioned there's a few ??? over the fitness of Jags so need someone there to organise Mori and be vocal. Mori could be great alongside someone who can command and instruct beside him. We also need a vocal keeper - sort the keeper and CB organisation out and that's a few places up the league before we've even started on other areas that need addressing. Gueye's energy in centre midfield will be important too.

No, he needs one of them as we've lost 4 senior players this summer in Howard, Osman, Hibbert and Pienaar. We lack leadership and organisation with such a young core - this needs addressing.

I wouldn't be disappointed if we could get Mitrovic from Newcastle if/when Rom goes. I'd also demand Traore off Chelsea in any deal for Rom - I was really impressed with him at the end of last season when he got a run of games.

He's a leader - there seems to be a few issues with Jags' fitness so we need another CB who knows the league and will marshall the defence. Mori needs Jagielka or a Williams type centre back alongside him - maybe Fonte unless there's a rumoured no Saints players agreement. Stones is gone in my opinion - it'll get sorted eventually so I do expect another CB in too - possibly Koulibaily.

I can't think of anyone obvious to replace Lukaku either. So many perceived 'quality ' strikers fail to score consistently in the Premiership - Rom's done it for 4 seasons now and is still in the early stages of his career. I can't name many realistic targets who I'd prefer to be honest but feel there are plenty of players who would improve is at CB should Stones go.
