McCarthy did really well; he's got the energy, passing and defensive ability to flourish in that role - maybe his positioning was a little off at times but more than happy with him at RWB.

I personally don't think there's much between Forster, Butland and Hart but Hart is the one that could be available to us. Butland would be my first choice of the three due mostly to how good he could be but he's injured and we don't know how he'll come back from it. I'd be more than happy with Hart though, I'd put him in the 2nd bracket of top keepers the league with de Gea, Lloris and Cech the only ones significantly better than him in my opinion.

Nicky Butt was very important to a very successful Man Utd team for years. If anything he was underrated. On Hart, he's a top keeper and he's a leader. We need both. £40m is far too steep - at half of that I'd be delighted. Best case scenario would be a loan to buy.

It's not about 'up-grades', it's about the players that Koeman needs to apply his aggressive, high pressure and more direct style of play. We need strong, direct, fast players, we need players with high stamina and we need leaders. The players we are signing fit this bill, the players outgoing either don't or haven't bought into Koeman's Everton. The upgrade I think most of us we agree on is in the manager's seat and that's what will improve us more than any marquee signing.

Inconsistency and wingers usually go hand in hand. The only consistent wingers seem to be at elite level - Bale, Messi, Ronaldo, Robben, Di Maria. Mirallas and Geri have great games but can be absolutely awful too... I just think it comes with the role.

By no means do I think Bolasie is worth £25-30m but, as you say, he can do it in this league. We could spend this on Yarmolenko but there's no guarantee he'd cut it. It's where we're at currently, we're not attracting the likes of Perisic (who I'd love) and hopefully proven players in this league keep help propel us to the next level where we're talking about these top, top players. Let's hope Koeman can bring the best out of him - I personally think he'll be a massive fan favourite. Regarding stats - he's been in a very average and defence minded Palace team - I think/hope, being surrounded by better attacking players, will bring the best out of him.
