  1. No, not at all. What happened was incredible but momentum and confidence played a massive factor in what they did. Koeman's inherited a squad low in confidence and players that have been coached/accustomed to a completely different playing style to what he's trying to apply. Koeman should probably be more flexible in his methods and by no means is not to blame in part but the fact remains we were in a lot better nick when Martinez took over than when Koeman did.
  2. Ranieri actually inherited the in form team at the time. Pearson left due to non-footballing matters.
  3. Maybe.... the fact still remains Martinez inherited a much better coached, settled and organised squad than Koeman has.
  4. Moyes inherited an aging squad who didn't respect him following statistically the greatest manager in the history of the English game - too big boots to fill especially when you factor in the loss of Gill and the shambles in the transfer window that followed.
  5. Martinez inherited a well coached, organised team. Koeman inherited a shambles.
  6. Martinez achieved 5th place with the solid foundation that David Moyes put in place with the added quality that Martinez brought in - mainly Lukaku. It would be impossible to prove but if Koeman had inherited the Moyes team/squad that Martinez did then I think we'd be a lot better off.
  7. He gave 2 moments of joy in a very poor team performance. Lukaku's not doing enough, no doubt, but he's nowhere near our main problem either though. Personally, I'm surprised how Geri's ended up with votes when he was playing so poor when we were actually in the game - he started playing at 3-1.
  8. Conte inherited a team that had won the league 2 years prior then massively underperformed last season.
  9. I'd say we're the definition of lacklustre in recent weeks.
  10. It's all relative... we're shite but we are still the shite team that finished 11th last season and the season before. Man U fans think they're shite and I imagine some Man C fans are beginning to think they're shite - all these managers have been brought in to sort something; Koeman, like Mourinho and Guardiola, can see that he hasn't got what he needs to do what he plans currently. Patience is important.
  11. Us calling for Koeman's head is the equivalent of Man C fans calling for Guardiolla's or Man U fans calling for Mourinho's. 1 window won't fix it.
  12. I struggled to give it to anyone... Geri started to play at 3-1 when they parked the bus. If he could have done half of that at 0-1 then we may have actually won. We were awful today and I don't see it getting better until there's a massive overhaul in this lacklustre squad.
  13. Because he was on-loan at Fulham 6 years ago - Watford signed him this summer and this is his debut. Looks an excellent signing!
  14. The goal was clearly Stekelenburg's fault (and Bolasie's for losing it - I think) but could Mori have got to it before it crossed the line? It looked like he stopped running and gave up on it. Only seen it from my seat so not had the benefit of replays.
  15. Gueye followed by Mirallas for his 2nd half performance.
  16. Kanchelskis has been our best individual over a short period (95-96 season) in my eyes. Cahill, Arteta plus the Pienaar/Baines combo. I thought Speed and Hutchinson were 2 of our best - shame we couldn't build around either. Richard Gough was a different class - wish we could have had him younger and for longer. Joe Parkinson is still one of my favourite all time players - had it not been for his career ending injury I think he'd have been one of the best.
  17. Valencia was the only panic buy. Bolasie looks our best attacking midfielder in my opinion. Williams will be a very important player especially with Jags looking to be on the decline.
  18. You think the players he inherited are good enough then?
  19. van Dijk would be a perfect partner for Williams in my opinion. Highly unlikely but it seems there's a mutual respect between him and Koeman. Think Gana needs a partner too to give us more protection/ energy in front of the back 4.
  20. Yep, in the meantime he can probably help himself by giving the likes of Davies and Dowell some game time. It will certainly give the home atmosphere a boost... been depressing of late!
  21. Agree with this also - Baines and Jags also accountable. Coleman is very poor when facing his own goal - seems to panick everytime.
  22. I'm surprised more people can't see this. I agree 100% with this.
