  1. Linked at the end of the article. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-4144306/Everton-captain-Phil-Jagielka-ready-leave.html?ITO=1490&ns_mchannel=rss&ns_campaign=1490 Not for me but we do need cover at cb and right back and he could do both.

  3. Unless a player requests a transfer. All clubs are in same boat not only us.
  4. People suggesting Butland realise he's not played for the best part of a year after a serious injury don't they? He keeps aggravating the injury every time he's been close to a comeback. I'd like to see how he returns before making further judgement.
  5. We'd still have to pay him off I'd imagine - loyalty bonus - ridiculous!
  6. If we're going to be playing the 5-3-2 system more often he'd be a quality option to play with Lukaku. Mirallas was brilliant today but it's great to have more options.
  7. Official list... Victor Anichebe, Michael Ball, Ross Barkley, Michael Branch, Danny Cadamarteri, Nick Chadwick, Tom Davies, Gerard Deulofeu, Dan Gosling, Francis Jeffers, Billy Kenny, Ademola Lookman, John Oster, Jack Rodwell, Wayne Rooney, James Vaughan, Vellios Apostolos.
  8. He looked so nervous today especially 2nd half with Gwladys giving him loads. I personally didn't boo him (he seems a good lad to me - I've no bitterness towards him) but it seemed to do the trick!!!
  9. I read somewhere that Lookman's a bright lad too - 8A/A*s at GCSE level.
  10. Every player for us has a case for MOTM today. Amazing team performance. Lukaku was unplayable. One of Barkley's most mature performances. The best I've seen Mirallas - he got it and ran at them every time. Barry was class before McCarthy brought that extra energy when needed. Williams looks in his element with Holgate and Mori to lead either side of him - all 3 excellent. Joel even looked solid and made a couple of important saves/claims. I went for Davies in the end though - not just for his goal but for his clearance off the line, his physicality against Toure and Zabeletta et al, for his constant energy and driving us forward. Suddenly we have quality options aplenty in centre mid.
  11. Not surprising looking at Sunderland's back 4... possibly the worst I've seen at this level. van Ahnalt is just no a defender Love - well?! Djiboji - awful O'Shea - he lost it a few years back
  12. Spurs look incredible and Kane is showing once again what a top class striker he is. For me, they were the best team last season. They're even better now that they've got going after a slowish start - they've got the squad to win it this year.
  13. Garbutt was signed from Leeds - Bates caused quite a fuss over the compensation package for a long time after. The high hopes I had for him are pretty much completely dwindled now... although he does have a good left foot!
  14. I read that our scouts actually tried to warn Martinez away from signing him. They advised him not to but he did anyway.
  15. I'd love him here. Think he'll turn out to be a regular international player when he settles somewhere. He's a goal scorer - I see him as a Defoe type player as he matures.
  16. When players go to Italy they get passed about a lot. He actually left Parma when they went bankrupt and waived his compensation. He's obviously been rebuilding his career since in UAE then at Liege. It seems we could be his route back to 'the top'. Koeman likes a target man (Pelle) and this is a Steve Walsh target so it could turn out to be a great bit of business. I've seen a couple of links saying this is more 4m than 10m.
  17. People aren't moaning about the teams below us though - they're saying that we should be challenging the teams above who in comparison to we have a lot less quality. You reference Jones, Rojo, Fellaini and Depay - all would play most games if they were here in my opinion (I'm not saying I want us to go and sign them). Southampton were still on the up when they got Pochettino - I remember how harsh it seemed Adkins getting sacked was; similar to Rowett at Birmingham recently. He improved them, no doubt, but it was already a settled squad doing well - they weren't in a scrap if memory serves me right. We've got a squad low in confidence and under performing after back to back 11th place finishes.
  18. The teams above us - the ones we want to be in and amongst/ahead may have surplus players but they also have a hell of a lot more depth - we're miles off all 6 in terms of squad depth. Why? Because they've been investing in a higher proven calibre of player than us over a sustained period of time. Spurs have Trippier and Davies as back-up full backs and Vorm as a sub keeper, Man U can afford to leave Schneiderlin and Depay out of match day squads, Arsenal have Welbeck, Giroud and Perez as back-up players these are just a few examples and I haven't even started of RS, Chelsea and Man C.
  19. I think Besic could actually be decent under Koeman. He hasn't done anything in his EFC career so far but think he'd work in a higher pressing system (which is what I believe Koeman is trying to implement). For me, Bolasie had been our stand out winger this season. He's inconsistent but he's been the best of a bad bunch really. None have been anywhere near good enough in all honesty. Bolasie is the only one I can see staying long term - Mirallas has shown flashes recently but i can't recall him taking a game on and winning it for us in a long time.
