  1. I was on a course earlier and got talking to a man in a Swansea lanyard - he obviously loves Sigurdsson and wants him to stay but agreed with me that he's not what EFC need (unless we sell Barkley). He said Sigurdsson's first touch often lets him down - something I hadn't noticed and that he's slow - something I had noticed. We could sure as hell do with his delivery from dead balls (the main reason for his incredible stats) but I just think there's better suited players to what we need especially at what we'd have to pay. Some players just fit in some teams/styles of play - I think this is true with Sigurdsson and Swansea.
  2. I really like it. I like that the sponsor is pretty minimal rather than a big logo etc. The detail down the sleeves is smart.
  3. Exactly the type we need... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/everton-west-ham-manuel-lanzini-10429327

  6. Balotelli on a free has appeared in a few places. His quality has never been the issue but can any club tame that personality?! He's done well in France but too much of a risk in my opinion; even for no transfer fee.
  7. I missed De Roon at Boro off that list - he's not had a bad first season and think he may have a few suitors. Traore is an interesting/infuriating one too. Both will probably get moves to a higher level than the Championship.
  8. No much quality at the teams who are going down. I can't see many staying in the Premier League next season. Here are the best of a bad bunch in my opinion. Hull - Clucas, Maguire, Robertson Middlesbrough - Gibson, Negredo Sunderland - Pickford, Defoe Robertson is rumoured to be off to The Shite. I think Pickford and Gibson have bright futures in the game but neither would be first choice targets for me. The 3 worst teams have gone down this season - not a lot of quality in any of them. I'd probably say Marco Silva is the main attraction to potential suitors - he's done his CV no harm whatsoever. He'd be perfect somewhere like Stoke, WBA or Southampton - teams that won't ever go down but miles behind the top 7.

  10. Rom being on his phone was just the tip of the iceberg... him making Bolassie's daughter cry was disgusting!
  11. This is what I see every game... after a few 'unfed' runs Lukaku can get frustrated and that's where he will miss an opportunity to run through.
  12. Molly coddling would surely be buckling to the demands of each. Koeman and Everton will decide what happens with the futures of each - if it makes business sense to sell one or both then I'm sure we will.
  13. Champions League status is probably seen as a step up to most players.
  14. One step forward - two steps back. Surely we want these players to play with our best players we have currently rather than replace them.
  15. How do you know there's never been a solid approach? Not every offer becomes public knowledge.
  16. Agreed - there's plenty I'd shift before Mirallas.
  17. I disagree... I don't think Ross delivers enough and find him frustrating at times but Mirallas is even less consistent. I don't mind Mirallas as a squad player - on his day he's brilliant - but when he's bad, he's really bad. We need better than him to progress but at the same time he's a good option to have.
  18. It's not all about money but it's also no coincidence that the teams above us are all on this list. Until we invest heavily over a sustained period then we can't compete over a sustained period.
  19. I think he'll get a lot of game time - granted some will be out wide but in a better EFC side he may have more freedom. I think Koeman will be able to buy players to allow him to play a few systems - we've seen the 5-3-2 used but injuries have hindered this in the tail end of the season. DCL would have been used in a 2 up top more this season had it not been for Mori and Coleman's injuries restricting our flexibility to go 5/4 at the back. Equally, if he were to go out on loan and get guaranteed game time, I'd have no qualms. I do think he and Lookman will develop here though.
  20. I want better and ready now with or without Rom but actually see DCL as a decent option in a better EFC team - maybe 3rd choice striker.
  21. I don't necessarily think he even needs to go out on loan. Currently, we have good options deeper in midfielder with Davies, Gana and Schneiderlin - Barkley too (although he often plays higher) but nothing between this and the striker. This is why Lukaku is playing every second because we are so weak and predictable in this area. With better players there, we'd be less reliant on Lukaku (or whoever replaces him should he be sold) and this may help us give more time to DCL centrally.
  22. Sell: Robles or Stek Jagielka Mori Garbutt McCarthy Barry (I expect he may move to a club like Burnley to play more games as he seeks the record) Cleverley (done deal on July 1st) McGeady Mirallas Lennon (help him get back on track at a club like Leeds) Geri (I personally would like to see him given another chance in a stronger EFC squad but don't see it happening) Kone Niasse Valencia (don't re-sign) I don't think there's much of a case for any of the above as we move forward so that's why I think we at least 10 new players - with the season likely to start in July this summer is the perfect summer to do it and bed them in. Our target is top 4 (Champions obviously!) and silverware next season - we massively need to improve the quantity of quality we have to achieve this.
