  1. Personally, I see today as a non-event; win, lose or draw, I'm just looking forward to a busy pre-season now - today's result has no bearing whatsoever on the future of Everton Football Club.
  2. Each to their own but I was at the Everton 2-3 Man City game 2013/14 when Man City beating us ultimately lost Liverpool the title. It was a fantastic atmosphere despite us losing - I expect it'd be similar today but they're winning now anyway.
  3. I expect most have gone hoping to lose as long as Middlesbrough can snatch something. If Arsenal were to snatch the top 4 spot off the shite then I expect those who have gone will have a great time as the scores come in.
  4. Or Koeman's trying to get the best deal for him in the summer by telling potential suitors that he's In his plans so they'll need to pay over the odds. A fully fit McCarthy is an asset.
  5. He's dyslexic. He's a knob, 100%, but fair play to him for what he's achieved.
  6. I agree that you get a different perspective at the game - mainly because you choose who or what you watch rather than the camera selecting your action. I will always watch extended highlights after the match too as you can also pick up on the bits you may have missed or wanted a closer look at. I would say Pad's spot on regarding Barkley often being guilty of holding onto the ball for too long and slowing down the tempo and his assessment of Lukaku often gets into good positions without getting the ball or goes early and ends up offside as a result of the ball not being released early enough; yes Lukaku could curve runs etc but the ball could also be released sooner. What I will say is that Lukaku will often get frustrated when he's made a few of these runs - this is when the pointing and arms start going.
  7. 2 assists for England u20s today. His left foot is incredible. Seems to have very good vision too.
  8. Calvert-Lewis's just won a pen. Converted by Solanke - 3-0.
  9. Man of the match in England's 2-0 win (latest with added time remaining) vs Argentina.
  10. He's been injured for most of the season - class player so I hope he can regain fitness... I'm sure he'll get a new deal at Arsenal if he can regain his fitness.
  11. Spot on. Not just Alli though - Eriksson and Son too. Even Rose and Walker. Dembele and Wanyama control the possession and tempo of most games too - they're an excellent team. They dominate teams more often than we do and score a hell of a lot more goals than us. Of course Lukaku would do well as a striker for them. As well as Kane? That's impossible to say.
  12. From what I've read Kroenke has no intentions of selling any time soon. Supposedly see's Arsenal as something he'll hand down through the family. When it's rejected officially - then things may get interesting.
  13. Spot on from Koeman (from the Guardian)... Koeman also said he knew of no update in terms of Romelu Lukaku, the striker who in March told Everton he will not sign the contract extension on offer. Lukaku, currently on a deal that has just over two years left, has scored 24 league goals this season, which did have him in pole position for the golden boot until Tottenhams Harry Kane netted four times at Leicester on Thursday to take his tally to 26. Koeman feels Lukaku must improve his game but has praised the 24-year-old Belgian for his scoring efforts, and notably suggested that while Everton need to keep his goals, they could also do with more players who in a season can contribute over five - the amount Barkley has netted in the league this term. Koeman said of Lukaku: Even if he doesnt win the golden boot, 24 goals is a good number. He can improve - he knows that by himself. He is just 24 years old and he can improve, and needs to in several aspects, as a nine, as a target man - to keep the ball better, be stronger and do better pressing in front. But that is what we work on to improve. What we need is to keep his goals and find more players to score more than four or five in one season.
  14. I'm fine with him going, would prefer us to keep a player of his quality, but I know we'll get top dollar and I trust Koeman and Walsh to improve us regardless. Of course I want an Everton player to win over a Spurs or Arsenal player because I support Everton. If there's an international game which doesn't involve England or a home nation the determining factor on who I want to win is whoever's got an Everton player playing for them. I don't think anyone is making a major fuss over him bar yourself. Most want him to stay but aren't going to lose sleep when he enevitably leaves...
  15. That's a lie! You dispise him so much that you'd sooner see players from another team win accolades above him - even though it may benefit Everton Football Club. It's baffling.
  16. They're better than us in every department. They've arguably been the best team over the past 24months - no silverware to show for it though. They may look back at missed opportunities if they don't hit the ground running at Wembley next season - it won't be easy.
  17. Would you prefer Harry Kane to win the golden boot over Rom? Is it just Kane or would you prefer Sanchez to win it over Rom too?
  18. That's what I'm saying - any player in that shirt gets my support. I may not rate them (there's been plenty in the last few seasons) but I will always want our players to achieve.
  19. Plus Lukaku being Premier League Top Goalscorer justifies a few more million on the price tag - it's all marketing and endorsement but it would have benefitted us. Most importantly though, he wears the shirt so we support him.
  20. He is but also in a much better, established and fluid team. I don't think Lukaku will stay beyond this summer (I've changed my mind a few times over the past months but pretty certain he's off now) but I would have been very interested to see him with better players around him - maybe it would have shown him up - maybe it would have taken us to the next level.
