  1. I think £15m plus add ons is as high as any team should go. He's looked very good in his first season playing at the top level but he's missed a big chunk through injuries and his team have finished bottom of the league by some distance. The fact that £30m is being mention is ridiculous so maybe we're making a point by offering something closer to what his 'true' value is. There's people on twitter moaning that if he costs £30m then pay £30m - Man City do. If we pay £30m for Pickford then we'll just set ourselves up for being ripped off all summer - before you know it we'll have spent £100m on Pickford, Maguire and Sigurdsson. We need to stand firm - by all means pay over the odds on prime targets (ala Lukaku) but be ready to walk away on players that are replicable.
  2. Southall, Ratcliffe, Sheedy, van den Hauwe.
  3. I'd definitely have him here. I don't think he was that bad last season - he had just set such high, high standards for himself on the back of 2015/16.

  5. This would be the perfect signing to show that we mean business if there was any chance whatsoever. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/810677/Manchester-United-Transfer-News-Anthony-Martial-Jose-Mourinho-Ivan-Perisic-Willian-News Martial coming through at Monaco was incredible - he could be one of the best in the world if he recaptures that potential - he's got the lot.
  6. Agree 100%. The problem for us is that we may not be our target's first choice to join so it's not always as straightforward. City have the money, the Champions League status, the 'world class' players already there and Pep.
  7. Pre-Moshiri. Can't see us doing it now, especially with a fellow Premier League club.
  8. ...and Mendy. They'll spend insane amounts this summer - probably helps that they've just taken more than £600k a week off their wage bill and could be closer to £1m if Toure leaves. Obviously the incoming players will be on silly amounts but they are upgrades on the aging players they've got rid of - City could be a frightening prospect next season.
  9. Talk of William Carvahlo to City too! They're certainly not messing about!!!
  10. I think it definitely does - okay the usual teams still sign the most expensive/in demand players but the rest is more of a level playing field now.
  11. Yep but that's completely unrealistic. It'll more likely be £20m rising to £25m/£30m based on his success.
  12. Rumours that Man C want a buy-back clause. Not sure we'd allow that moving forward.
  13. You could say West Ham selling Payet for £30m if you're applying that logic. Defoe is a 3 year deal I believe. Still - Bournemouth paying over £100k a week - it's ridiculous money. The fact is that every club is spending millions on transfer fees but more importantly wages. Arnautovic didn't come to us last season as he was able to get £80k or whatever a week at Stoke. There was a time when only one or 2 clubs could afford wages like that - now any Premier League club can offer that kind of contract.
  14. This statement is miles off... look how much every club is spending. Palace spending £30m on Benteke, Leicester spending close on £100m, Bournemouth buying £10m + players and offering Defoe 6 figure weekly pay packets, teams like Southampton and West Brom breaking their transfer record year on year - every club is spending mad money just to stand still!
  15. Rumoured to be close to joining Man U. Great player who's got everything - one of my favourites to watch. He'll be class for them.
  16. I like Valencia but I want us signing better players than him.
  17. The split digraph makes the O sound. Every day's a school day!
  18. I actually think he's got loads more to offer on the pitch too.
  19. I personally think he'll move on this summer to a team like Burnley where he'll get more game time.
  20. We haven't got a single player who's got experience of winning major trophies. Rooney has got this in abundance and wants to play for us. 31 is no age - okay time has taken its toll but this is a challenge he wants - he'll be fit and ready. The bottom line is that we need him for his winning mentality, leadership and general know how as much as we need his quality. Rooney should not be judged solely on the past season - if anything, the reduced opportunities he's had will benefit us.
  21. I agree - he should be bang up for this... if not - we'll sell him to China!
