  1. They were knocked out by Maccabi Tel Aviv at the same stage last season. Decent draw and a great country to go to (by all accounts). Fingers crossed on a decent allocation (enough for me to qualify anyway) at the 35,000 stadium.
  2. If we're going to play 3-4-3 with the 2 holding midfielders then that's their job to cover when the wing backs bomb on.
  3. I don't think he's what we need - I'd much prefer someone with a bit of pace that can do something from nothing. To me it seems Spurs is the blueprint where there's no natural width necessarily but lots of clever movement (which we need to improve massively) and interchanging with the 3 playing behind Kane - Sig being our Erickson. He'll be starting every game at that price though!
  4. Slow, boring at times, frustrating but a massively important result and another good work out for the players against opposition which was no match quality wise but the effort and energy they put into that was commendable. Positives for me were Keane, Pickford, Klaassen, DCL and Davies. The balance doesn't look right but that could equally be down to match sharpness - Sunday will be a big game to sort a few bits out looking forward to Stoke.
  5. Much better use of the players we've got available than last week. We'll be more balanced and more threatening as a result. There's room for improvement before the end of the window but that's the line-up I wanted to see.
  6. I'd love Kenny playing but if he's not likely to be ahead of Martina... Davies is good enough to be shoehorned in. Rather he be played in a less natural position than be on the bench personally.
  7. Maybe the reason Koeman wants another left footed centre back.
  8. From last year's link to Son... At least you're consistent!!!
  9. Pretty sure he was linked away pre-season - remember us being linked tentatively. Didn't always play as a 9 in Kane's absence either - seem to remember Alli playing as a 'false 9' on occasions. Pretty sure Son missed the start of the season too (when Kane was out).
  10. There's rumours that he may be used as a right wing back tomorrow. I can actually see this as a role he'll play in quite often for us with Coleman out. He had 45mins in the role vs Watford in the final home game and did really well driving forward. Gana, Schneiderlin and Klaassen will be our main 3 in central mid so I'd have no qualms with Davies playing this role as I think we're a better team with him on the pitch - even if it is in a less natural role.
  11. A lot of talk that it is Callum Connelly - most say on-loan.
  12. That'd mean Swansea would pay £20-25m to loan Barkley for 1 season... not happening!
  13. So we'd miss out on £30m for Barkley by loaning him until his contract runs out? Would be a bit silly!

  15. Supposedly off to Forest for the season. Good move.
  16. Both opinion pieces. Neither answer the question of whether Barkley does see his future at EFC and if not how long has he known?
  17. Please show me where I've said he doesn't get any abuse... I'm saying that from the Lower Gwladys, I don't hear a disproportionate amount of abuse aimed at him in comparison to others - moreso Lukaku, Bolassie, Jagielka, Williams and Mori... Martina was the main target on Thursday. Don't get all defensive because you don't go anymore - that's your choice and makes you no less of a fan.
  18. Jackpot!!! No complaining and am very greatful... but it's hardly worth mentioning as a free gift!!!
  19. Possibly but was this the first offer? Koeman isn't the only person who could have offered Ross a contract - Martinez, Kenwright, Moshiri.
  20. This is what you believe - it's not fact. To me, it sounds like Ross was first offered a contract in February 2016.
  21. Fact remains, you're going off what other people are telling you. Here's another 2 people telling you that actually it's not happening how you're claiming - I need to get a proper sound bar if you're hearing it on your TV. It's very much what you want to believe/ fits your narrative.
  22. The fact that you don't attend games makes this a very strange question - you're going off what people have told you - relaid information is often exaggerated. Personally, I don't hear a lot of moans in the Lower Gwladys and at away games, I'd say he's the main player to sing about. For every moan there's 100 times more people singing 'We've got a diamond...'. There's the banners in the Gwladys Street. He gets stick, yes, but every single other player does. It's easy to read into the saga with what reason fits for you but the fact is none of us know the real reason that Barkley has not signed the contract on offer (whether it's been on offer since last April or February 2016). Blame it on Koeman, blame it on Barkley, blame it on his agent, blame it on the city, blame it on the fans - hopefully we'll know reasons one day but until then it's all speculation.
