Put a Giroud, Llorente, Costa type striker in that team and we look completely different. The ball will stick, we'll get players further up the pitch relieving the back line and we'll get free kicks in dangerous areas - something that will prove to be a great source of goals for us this season. I would love players like Salah, Mane and Firminho in our attack but that's not going to happen. We'll have a target man and the likes of Rooney, Sandro, Siggy, Klaassen, DCL and Lookman will play off him. It may not always be pretty but it'll be effective.

I'd be sad to see him go if we don't replace him but if we've got someone like Demari Gray lined up then I don't think Mirallas will be missed. A top player on his day... unfortunately, he only has about 5 of these days a season.

The incident happened on Saturday at around 4.10 pm. Early reports claim Meho Besic was shot in the leg and arm, however he survived the initial shooting. Hes since been hospitalised. Probably but it's always good to show that interest/ maybe lay some of the foundations behind the scenes if it doesn't happen with them. He's better than we'd realistically get otherwise.

I watched the 2nd half through Chelsea's YouTube - very backs to wall but we looked solid. Walsh was everywhere and I really like the look of Baningime. Unsworth clearly has them well drilled. Niasse looked lively and is clearly too good for that level. Broadhead almost scored an incredible goal when he came on.

I missed McCarthy too. Having a European campaign means it's a lot more than just a starting xi that we need to be thinking about - we need to have quality back-up. With the extra players who were missing, all of a sudden you can rotate with Chelsea away on the Sunday in mind but still stay strong in the line-up and keep the personnel fresh over a long season.

I'm actually beginning to believe this may happen. He simply can't stay at Chelsea - it's gone too far. He only wants to go to Atletico and the fact that he can't play until January doesn't seem to be an issue - should be straightforward but Chelsea and Atletico/Costa don't seem to be able to agree anything at this point... do Atletico actually want him? If this doesn't happen then we're one of a few realistic options. He's already ruled out China with the World Cup coming up. It'd have to be a loan deal as Costa wouldn't choose to join us but he'd have to give his all for his own benefit of going to the World Cup next summer which is what his main goal will be. He'll only get into that Spain squad if he's at the top of his gain - that will benefit whoever he ends up playing for.
