  1. No, completely different though. None of these high foot incidents have the intent of kicking someone in the head whereas the intent is there with a 2 footed challenge.
  2. No contact made though. It's a red if contact is made.
  3. There's clearly no intention and Mane may not be aware of the presence of Ederson but when the foot is that high and makes any contact with the opponent it's a red for dangerous play regardless of intent.
  4. Awful dive from Merino in the Swansea vs Newcastle game... what a wool!
  5. He puts a lovely cross in but unfortunately we often don't have anyone in the box to aim at. Defenesively, he's very poor (to be polite). His positioning is hopeless, he's a ball watcher and not very brave. You can see his teammates have no trust in him whatsoever. Hands up, I thought this would be a shrewd signing providing back-up to Kenny in Coleman's absence. I do think Kenny will have a part to play very soon with him not being sent out on loan. If he's not in Koeman's plans then surely a 1 year deal for Sagna until Coleman is back would have been a wiser move...
  6. I think Holgate will start vs Atalanta and possibly Man U then Kenny will get a chance vs Sunderland (with Martina at left back). Hopefully Kenny (or Holgate) will stake a claim and get a decent run of games.
  7. He's young, new to the league and we've seen very little of him vs some of the toughest defences in the league. He needs time but unfortunately, our failiure to sign a Giroud type striker, means he needs to hit the ground running.
  8. He's ideal playing centrally in a back 3 (see Wales) but we simply don't have the left sided centre back or the wing backs. I wanted and still want Gibson from Middlesbrough as a left sided centre back option. Had Mori not got injured, I think we'd have got shut and brought in another 'ready' centre back in.
  9. Spurs play with 3 number 10s most games - major difference is they're working behind Kane with Tripper/(Aurier) and Davies/Rose creating quality/reliable width.
  10. On the Mane challenge, where I feel there was no malice, his foot is dangerously high and he has no control over it with him jumping. Clear red in my opinion. I like the 'it's not a red anywhere else on the pitch' shouts from some of the pundits - no it's 3 or 4 reds if someone is running at full speed before launching a boot that high!!! Luckily, it'd never happen anywhere else on the pitch to this extent.
  11. And an absolute bargain for the £0 Stoke paid! Would have loved him here.
  12. I know we all hope for more, and rightfully so, but taking all blue tinted specs off etc. our expected point tally at this point of the season was always going to be 4 points - probably even after the next game too. In our first 5 games we've had what I expect to be the top 4 (only ??? over Spurs and how they do at Wembley) - Man C, Chelsea and Man U away - we may all expect something but in reality anything is a bonus and they will each be favourites vs us. We simply must beat teams like Stoke at home - then Spurs today - they're much stronger but home advantage would level it out. The early fixtures were always going to be a struggle and the fact that we're bedding in so many new faces including a completely new attacking line-up; it's been a rude awakening. I get it, the performances have been poor but let's judge after 10-12 games, when the league is resembling something like it will look at the end of the season. Once again, I get it - momentum, etc. I personally haven't enjoyed our performances but in my opinion we will still progress this season and performances will improve.
  13. He was but I'd still expect Seamus back first due to the nature of the injuries. A clean break heals much quicker than torn ligament. It seems ridiculous with how they look when it happens but tearing the ACL (and whatever other ligaments are in the knee) or achillies are probably the most common and worst injuries footballers pick up and struggle to come back from.
  14. If he's got our badge on his chest, then he'll get my support... sure that's the same for everyone though.
  15. I think it'll take Bolassie longer with it being a ligament tear - seems ridiculous but a break heals much quicker and 'stronger'.
  16. Click on how long ago the last post was made and it'll take you to the last post. That's what I do (on an iPhone) anyway.
  17. Decent watch for those who are interested in the madness of transfer deadline day... Surely there's a better way?! I personally am fascinated by how the Italians do it with all negotiations happening in the same venue on deadline day.
  18. Just checking the inserting photo feature...
  19. As a mobile user, I like it a lot. There's a lot more available and dare I say more user friendly?! I've even given my profile a little update after it had been neglected for so long! Thanks to all involved in the upgrade - keep up the good work! ??
  20. Scored for England u21s after good build up by Lookman.
  21. I think we were almost aiming too high with strikers e.g. Giroud, Costa, Dzeko etc. These players probably weren't that excited by us and the clubs (bar Costa) weren't in any need to do business with us. In reality, if we'd gone after someone like Dembele at Celtic from the start then we'd have probably got him in - very raw and a downgrade on Lukaku but would have given us another much needed option in attack however over priced it may have seemed. If it was purely a target man we were looking for then the likes of Rondon, Deeney, Wood would have done a job short term but wouldn't have had the quality to take us where we aspire to be. With hindsight, would we have been better off getting one of these in as an option?
