  1. I’ve seen Peter Reid being mentioned for a role.
  2. The good thing about Big Sam is that it’ll be a ‘transitional’ appointment. Why back a Dyche or Howe if that’s not who we want long term? It’s clear who we want isn’t available so Allardyce will come on a 2yr deal or whatever and hopefully turn us into a much more organised unit. He may even excel in the role... a not fancied Harry Redknapp came in and sorted Spurs out a few years ago when not many would have given him a chance.
  3. I go every week and give my full support - I think it’s counterproductive to boo your own team. A forum is totally different though... it’d probably do the players/management good to see the worry/displeasure in most fans - it may (not likely) give some a kick up the arse. I really am worried as this is the worst Everton I’ve seen since the Walker days. I’ll be there supporting on Wednesday night but to be honest I am disgusted by what I’ve seen this season. So yes, I will use this forum as a platform to get a few worries off my chest rather than boo or throw abuse at players/management at the game.
  4. I can find positives about every other club around us e.g Swansea/Huddersfield can shut up shop and grind out a point, Bournemouth can dominate teams at home, Palace have players like Zaha and Townsend who can terrorise defences, West Ham/Stoke/Palace with target men like Carroll, Crouch and Benteke will always pose a threat... then there’s us - a shambles in defence, overrun in the middle, clueless out wide and toothless in attack. We are in a relegation scrap.
  5. I don’t have a clue who we’re getting but get it wrong and it could get very messy. There are some serious issues to address at our club on and off the pitch.
  6. Those poor bastard fans that went all that way for that gutless shower of shite!
  7. We are hopeless. So so so easy to play against. I’d go as far to say that we’re the worst team in the league - the table doesn’t show this fully but unless something changes quickly there’s only one direction in which we’re heading.
  8. Koeman’s downfall was trying to play too many out of position... at least this line-up has players playing in strongest positions.
  9. As this forum is ‘for the thinking Evertonian’ I will say no more.
  10. A win tomorrow could move us into the top half by the end of the day with Huddersfield playing Man C.
  11. Villas-Boas article... https://www.google.co.uk/amp/worldsoccertalk.com/2017/11/24/villas-boas-future-in-doubt-ahead-of-china-fa-cup-final/amp/
  12. Villas-Boas is being mentioned on twitter... he’s come out and said his mind’s made up where his future lies after Sunday’s season finale in China. Probably people seeing this comment and 2+2=5 but as likely as any I suppose (and a lot easier to digest rather than O’Neill/Keane combo!)
  13. No, we signed him as one of the most consistent centre backs in the Premier League on the back of a very good Euro 16’ tournament for him personally and for Wales. As a result, our defence improved on the previous 2 seasons. Sadly, this season, he looks short of confidence, off form, ‘too big’ and most worryingly, plainly uninterested. At the time we signed him he was what we were crying out for... now though... we need to replace him ASAP.
  14. He deserved the chance to ‘prove’ himself as a candiadate with the great work he’s done with the academy but, despite the odd bright moment, he’s slipping back into the same traps that Koeman fell into - square pegs and round holes etc... I hope he can go back to his academy role as he’s clearly well respected (although the senior players have a funny way of showing it) around EFC. 10/10 for effort, enthusiasm and saying the right things but nowhere near good enough for the bit that matters - winning matches!
  15. That’s me, I initially asked not to be named but mentioned it to my school and they said they’d inform me if any official approaches were made... I could have strengthened my chances further had my Y6 boys team not been beaten in the final of the county finals (at St George’s) earlier.
  16. He was strongly linked and maybe even spoken to when we hired Martinez. I like the sound of him recruitment wise but don’t know much about him tactically.
  17. Sorry to piss on everyone’s line-ups but isn’t Davies suspended for this one?
  18. It hurts watching Richarlison for Watford... £15m!!! We spent all that money on Klaassen, Sigurdsson and Rooney when there’s class players like him around - in a position we actually needed to strengthen! He’s perfect for this league - strong, fast, skilful, good work rate and he’s got the end product. Even if we do get Silva, I think he’ll have ‘better’ offers.
  19. I agree and as said Lukaku and Coleman helped too. I, like others, wouldn’t play them together currently - was just making reference to actually they were 2 of our better players last season.
  20. ...and Barkley’s end of season form. Coleman’s injury was a massive loss. Beyond the obvious pick of Lukaku and Barkley, Gana was our best player last season and Schneiderlin was seen as an excellent signing before his indifferent form this season.
  21. Their partnership coincided with our positive 2nd half of last season.
  22. It’s worked more (last season) than it’s not worked (this season) to be fair.
