  1. The problem is that we won't get anywhere close to 50 million with Barnsley's cut taken out. That, combined with the prices being bandied about for Koulibaly make me think that we'll have to flip that money directly for a CB with less potential.
  2. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2016/07/15/everton-join-rangers-as-surprise-bookies-contenders-to-sign-robi/? Thank God this isn't substantiated.
  3. Can't build entirely around youth or you end up with our squad the last two years, relying entirely on the likes of Ross, Lukaku and Geri for pretty much all of our production. That said, I'm pretty underwhelmed with the links so far as well,
  4. Adrian Ivanovic / Terry / Skrtel / Albornoz Barton / Gerrard / De Jong / Arnautovic and his stupid hair Costa Suarez
  5. A really nice one. It's a good thing k and m really are next to each other on the phone keyboard because that could be a hard one to explain.
  6. Fair enough. We'll see what he can do with 100k.
  7. I don't see this. Koeman is a good manager with a longer CV than De Boer and one that includes some success in the prem. To say that Southampton only marginally over-performed the last two years is a bit disingenuous; I could point to Arsenal, Chelsea, Man U, Man City, Everton, Liverpool, Tottenham, West Ham, and potentially even Stoke, Swansea and Palace who, on paper, should have been better than Southhampton the last two seasons, not to mention Leicester who found a way to win the league. Southampton's marquee signings this past season were van Dijk and Charlie Austin - not exactly world beaters. I'm just not sure who you expect us to sign. Emery I understand, but he's about the only option I see as having a higher ceiling than Koeman, and as we all well know, Spanish managers don't always transition well to the Premier League. We're not stealing Pochettino, we were never signing Mourinho, Pellegrini has less promise and is a far more known quantity. Just who is exactly is all this money supposed to get us and which bigger club (because there are bigger clubs than us) are we stealing him from?
  8. I wonder who Stones did today. I hope they were pretty.
  9. I'm not sure finishing is what he's best at though. His runs, his positioning and his hold-up play (which I think he rarely gets credit for any of those, despite those being his strongest talents), were all great yesterday. His finishing is often lacking and his first touch is notoriously awful. That's what he sucked at yesterday, and those are things that he often sucks at.
  10. http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/663556/Everton-boss-Roberto-Martinez-reveals-three-games-from-sack-ahead-Man-United-News-Gossip Does that mean he resigns if we lose to Bournemouth?
  11. And even if you were, you wouldn't be wrong. His hold-up play was fine - it was everything else that was shocking.
  12. Don't know where the disagreement is. He should've been on at 70 minutes along with Geri in my mind. The fact that Martinez only brought him on to replace Gibbo for the last minute because Gibbo was injured and not because he's clearly not fit enough to play a full 90 minutes is baffling.
  13. Everybody is missing the point that he was never planning to bring Mirallas on at all; Gibson picked up the knock on the tackle on Rashford and that's what prompted the change. Makes it even worse.
  14. Total lack of marking by either of them or by Gibson. Besic is poor to let Martial cruise right by him, but is at least counting on one of the three dudes in the middle to pick up Fellaini's run. Gibson isn't even paying attention; just runs to the near post without any idea what's behind him, Baines isn't looking behind him and Stones is just ball-watching behind Fellaini. Embarrassing goal.
  15. At least when we lose we'll know that our calls for Martinez' sacking are now beyond justified.
  16. We were pure trash after the first 30 minutes. Showed the first bit of fight I've seen in weeks, and then shut off at the point that we, once again, ran out of creativity. I've been scared of losing the likes of Stones, Lukaku and Mirallas for some time now, but this side needs a complete overhaul. If we don't thrash Man U at the weekend (not going to happen), then Martinez needs dumped like the bag of goddamn rocks that are his brain, and we need a new manager to start structuring a side for next season and instilling some confidence in the players we know want to be there. Goodbye Howard, goodbye Lukaku, goodbye Stones and fuck you Martinez.
  17. Yes. Should have been. He got up quickly but should've still been a pen.
  18. So now we just sit back with Oviedo for 20 minutes and watch Palace score a winner.
  19. Started working on mine too. Game was just hidden for some reason on a few pages.
  20. Too many giveaways; every time someone gets the ball in front of the 18-yard box, they're surrounded by 4 Palace players. Need to get the ball out wide and keep firing it in. Hopefully see Geri in the second half to do some of that.
