  1. For what it's worth, this scouting report agrees with me:
  2. Must have found some different videos than I did. Saw him take a lot of shots and miss pretty far wide. Great at making space for the shots - very bad at converting them.
  3. Cleverley doesn't need minutes. Put Davies and Barkley in deep midfield, Mirallas and Deulofeu on the side, and play Valencia just behind Lukaku with 4 at the back. Cleverley needs a transfer to League 1.
  4. He looks very impressive on the ball, but I will say we look to have signed another player without much finishing quality. Hopefully that changes as he grows into the Premier League.
  5. The Funes Mori sub just totally stifled our momentum. Terrible.
  6. Mirallas not impressing me. Definitely playing for himself.
  7. Lukaku and Valencia have both been very good in holding up play. They're just getting too many numbers back. We need to hit them faster on the break, not allow everyone to get back, and allow their tired legs to lose them the match.
  8. :/ the kind of post that makes you look foolish haf. Third in the league in goals. The work rate isn't there but he's clearly a "good" footballer. It reminds me of how people used to talk about Shaq (Shaquille O'Neal) in basketball; "he's only good because he's so big and strong yet so quick and agile." ..... yeah, exactly. He's a beast of a man and he plays the right sport for his body type and agility. Rom is already a very good footballer. I am often as frustrated as you with his work rate and his football iq, as well as his first touch. But his deception running forward on that goal. His first touch. His finesse finish. Are you kidding me? Name another player his size who can do those things in one long move. He's not great yet. And he is incredibly frustrating. But "Never in a million years will he be a good footballer?" Fuck off. Glad your kid got to see a win.
  9. This is my worry; that Koeman will feel vindicated for his starting XI when he should feel anything but. Awful lineup and we benefited from some terrible defending and a lucky ball from Robles to get us the first. The second was because they were throwing so many forward and never comes without the first. That lineup will not win us many games.
  10. Agreed. This is making me mourn the days of tiki-taka. I really do wonder why Koeman is so afraid to just go for it. This lineup screams fear to me. Lukaku is far too isolated in the front to make anything happen with only Coleman making consistent runs to his side. Three attacking players will never be enough to out and out win football games unless their jerseys read Neymar/Suarez/Messi.
  11. Think it's got to be: Robles Coleman Jags Williams Baines Gana Mirallas Barkley Deulofeu Lukaku Valencia/Calvert-Lewin It won't be, but it should be.
  12. Stek looked far more likely to concede and has all season. Robles couldn't have known much about Sturridge's low shot and did his best to get back; was far more alert than Williams and Funes Mori. That goal down completely to our CBs ball-watching.
  13. Not happy to see two subs given away to injury. Wanted to see Mirallas and Calvert-Lewin come on for about 20 minutes and run at the shite.
  14. Stek is so awful. Such bad decision making. No idea what Koeman sees in him.
  15. Not good in the second half so far. Not good at all.
  16. We certainly look like we want it more. Putting in harder challenges, playing with more energy. The problem is that they are so well organized by Klopp that we're not really getting any good chances on the ball; everything is closed down so quickly we have no time to pick an incisive pass. We need to keep shooting anytime we get the ball near the top of the box, and we need to keep swinging in crosses every time we have the ball down the side. One of these times hopefully we'll catch someone out.
  17. First we have to string a couple passes together.
