  1. Schneiderlin with Gana and Valencia a close second. So many potential breaks cut out by Schneiderlin and controlled tempo and possession more than any other player. Glad we did something with it today.
  2. Yeah Gomes had a good few saves and we weren't clinical enough in front of goal but it's a step up from the past couple.
  3. Seemed out of obligation. His face didn't betray any emotion.
  4. Great to see but the reaction was so stoic. Think that's the last goal we see from him in blue.
  5. Yeah I think he definitely rates Lookman. Still think we're short on depth in that position, though. Basically have an injured Bolasie, Lookman and Mirallas as players most comfortable in that slot; everyone else has been makeshift barring Lennon and Deulofeu who probably won't return. Don't know enough about the Championship to make a comment, but does getting player of the year in the division say a little something? Maybe he's improved a bit since his Leicester days? Fifteen goals for a winger is a lot, but he doesn't have the record in previous seasons so I guess I shouldn't expect anywhere near that sort of production in the Premier League.
  6. http://www.espnfc.us/story/3123702/everton-eye-move-for-brighton-winger-anthony-knockaert-sources Winger from Brighton. Anyone know anything about him or remember him playing for Leicester? Seems strange that Brighton would consider selling their best player after promotion to the prem, so this may be a longshot.
  7. I'll be taking care of a chipmunk-faced, high on Vicodin girlfriend after getting her wisdom teeth cut, so they've gotta give me something.
  8. I do think Valencia is the more humble player which in my eyes might make him a better sub. I've always liked Mirallas but his value as a sub has always seemed a bit dampened by the fact that he always appears to come on pissed off that he was a sub and usually to a negative effect.
  9. Works well for me 8 hours behind and working nights. Maybe they scheduled it for my sake.
  10. This for me. Don't think he'd bring much more than Eto'o did when he joined us. I understand the feel good factor in wanting him to return home, but not having it myself since I didn't follow English football until a few years later, the move just doesn't make sense at this stage in his career. If we were a young relegation-threatened squad who could use his experience to help out our young players, I'd get it. But we're not particularly young and we need to be pushing higher.
  11. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/jordan-pickford-sunderland-everton-transfer-10381916 But also that. I'd rather have Butland for sure but Forster doesn't seem to be much better quality if any than Pickford and he's 6 years his senior. Obviously both still have a bunch of years ahead of them, but I think Forster will keep playing at his level for another 5-6 seasons where Pickford and Butland both stand to improve quite a bit over the next few years as long as they continue to start. I don't think Pickford will go to Liverpool as I don't think he represents a significant improvement over Mignolet enough to warrant taking his starting job, and I doubt either of the Manchester clubs are looking to sign a 23-year old as their number one.
  12. Not sure what you are getting at with the Davies bit. His role is clearly not as a forward, winger or attacking mid. I could see if you mean more of a deep-lying central midfielder, but you could say the same about Gana or Mccarthy, so it seems a bit like splitting hairs. That said, I've always liked Besic and like others have said, he seems to be a Koeman-esque player while Koeman clearly likes McCarthy. I think McCarthy still has a fair bit to offer as well, so hopefully both of them can stay healthy for a year and provide the depth we've been missing in that position for years.
  13. Every position with the exception of defensive central mid seems about right. With schneiderlin, gana, davies, McCarthy, and besic, it's the only position I'm comfortable with our depth. Barry has another year on his contract but I'd really rather not see him play next season once McCarthy and besic are back healthy.
  14. Shows the quality we have in waiting and we finally have a manager who seems willing and able to use them and get the best out of them.
  15. This is good insight and what I like to hear. In the part that he's not quoted from the presser, he talks about how he keeps his squad smaller by using youth and doesn't have to deal with as many egos not playing every week. This makes sense on so many levels, and will hopefully lead to a couple big signings in the summer as we'll have more funds and more certainty of playing time than if we filled the squad with a bunch of replacement level players.
  16. Think it'll be this: Robles Holgate Pennington Jags Baines Gana Schneiderlin Davies Barkley DCL Lukaku Wish it were: Robles Kenny Holgate Jags Baines Gana Schneiderlin Mirallas Barkley Lookman Lukaku
  17. Williams was ripping into him, as well. The whole side kind of was, and he played selfishly on every counter attack the entire day. His hold-up play was OK, but otherwise it was one of the least creative and less hard-working performances I've seen by him.
  18. It was definitely a pen, but the number of free kicks given against us vs them for the same type of grappling was pretty absurd. We should have had a lot more possession but the reft kept gifting Man U the ball.
