  1. In the online store you can buy a home kit with Lookman’s 31, but not an away kit. I give up.
  2. I think he just wants regular playing time, and he hasn’t been showing that at Everton while Leipzig gave it to him. He posted a photo on IG of a screenshot of the music he was listening to with plane emojis. Maybe he was just flying from home in London to Liverpool, having a little time off because of his injury. I’ve yet to see a screenshot of his twitter account before the alleged removal of the word Everton, and I’m skeptical it happened. He hasn’t publically said a word, which is all we ever asked of Lukaku. There’s no way to know what’s going on here. We’ll all be better reserved holding judgment until the outgoing window closes.
  3. Doesn’t sound like an attitude anyone should want at their club.
  4. I have a feeling this one has been done and dusted for a couple days but thanks to Digne being in the U.S., it’s taking an extra couple days to finalize. You’re right, though, it’s frustrating as hell.
  5. He did look good against our garbage midfield and back line. But I’m not sure that means all that much. Also, Rennes don’t have a massive reason to sell as they’re in Europa, and he could get a lot better offers after a year on display playing internationally at the club level.
  6. Wolves 1 - 1 Everton Richarlison Posted early so you could all cheat off the defending champion.
  7. It worries me that he hasn’t even broken into the first team with Sporting at 21. Seems an odd one to pull out of thin air, though, so guessing we’ve at least scouted him.
  8. Jags and Coleman’s Twitters don’t, and they’re more loyal to this club than any other player we’ve got. Most is definitely an overstatement.
  9. http://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2018/07/30/report-brands-and-silva-agree-on-move-for-delgado-he-wants-to-jo/ Anyone know anything about this guy?
  10. Joel was too good for our bench. Not happy having Stek as the backup and would have preferred to have given Hewelt a chance to prove himself, but Joel was always going to go.

  12. Agree to disagree on that. Salah (35 in 59 for a pretty bad Egypt side) and Mane (1 in 3 for Senegal) score at near will. Firmino looked good but not great before last season. He works well in that system, but without those two, he’s not nearly as good.
  13. They don’t need much of a backup plan to Firmino when their wingers score more goals than most strikers. That backup plan can just be “we have Salah and Mane.” Cue “Salah’s not a winger” chants, but those are irrelevant to the point.
  14. I wouldn’t mind keeping Sandro to see if he can learn to cope with the physicality of the league better as he’s definitely shown ability this preseason. He will need time, though, which means that if Silva sees his best position out wide, after Richarlison, Walcott, Lookman and he, there won’t be a lot of minutes left for Mirallas. One of them definitely needs to go, and while Mirallas has also shown ability and effort this preseason, I’d go with youth and potential. Everyone else needs to go yesterday.
  15. The correct CB pairing is essential, which means the addition of one. I would be ok with seeing a Mina/Holgate pairing or a Mina/Jags pairing to start the season and see if they gel. If we don’t get Mina, we need an anchor of his caliber. Keane as 4th choice and ship out Williams. As much as I’d like to see a backup to Tosun, I’m not sure it’s essential either. With Richarlison’s goal scoring ability and other capable wingers to whip crosses into Tosun, Niasse as an impact and DCL as backup might have to be enough right now, especially if we’re able to get Onyekuru next season. We’re not winning anything this season; it’s clearly a rebuilding year and I think we have more pressing concerns elsewhere. I also don’t know that a backup keeper is essential, as we haven’t had a chance to see Hewelt play. I’m not sure Pickford needs competition as he seems about as self-motivated as they come, but it’s true that Stek clearly isn’t good enough. If Silva says we need one, then I guess it means Hewelt isn’t ready and you’re correct in its being essential. We can’t make the same wholesale changes we did last year, even if our squad is as shit as we all know it is. We saw the effects of doing so last season, as absolutely no one was able to play together as a squad. Some familiarity, even though they won’t take us forward, will probably be necessary this year in order to build a foundation for years to come.
  16. We just have to give him some playing time. He was happy enough to be coming off the bench at Leipzig; he should be the absolute first option off the bench when one of Richarlison, Walcott or Siggy’s legs tire (if Siggy, let one of Richarlison or Walcott play up the middle). Give him a chance to prove himself in the PL and get Bolasie fucked right off.
  17. I tried to think of another way to word it that wasn’t so wordy as shot on goal since that sounded stupid, mostly as I knew you’d probably chime in. Thanks for the predictability.
  18. Not advocating that we don’t sign a new LB at all, but I think it’s silly to say that if Robinson was even slightly capable. He’s far more capable than Martina already, but Koeman was a big dumb stubborn lug who would’ve played Martina ahead of half the LBs in the league. To my absolute dismay.
  19. We’d be beyond stupid to let him go at his age and with his potential, whether he wants to go or not. With the silly money in the league right now, it should take an offer around Richarlison’s to even consider. I don’t think Leipzig has that kind of money, and so far I don’t think Brands is dumb enough to let it happen. We just got 15 for Klaassen; I just don’t see us letting Lookman go for 20.
  20. Chelsea are said to be after him.
  21. Lukaku still doesn’t do either of those things better than average though. He has always been able to find the net, however, which is what’s most important for a striker. DCL is neither a Giroud-style physical presence who play can build around nor a Lukaku style clinical finisher; he’s an ok footballer who doesn’t excel at anything. After a couple years at this level, he needs a loan where he can be the focal point of an attack in order to develop some prominent skill or he’ll never be good enough.
  22. He looked quite good for the U.S. in friendlies against Bolivia and the World Cup winning France side. He definitely needs more time before he’s ready, but one half is not enough to judge a player’s potential. Ed: Dont know why the font is bigger... phone is doing some weird things.
