  1. We couldn't even do that. 15 million to replace Stones so there would be money to sign about one quality player.
  2. Here's a little present to Matt:
  3. Rooney, Lescott, Rodwell, Arteta...
  4. My point was that that logic is bollocks.
  5. Should we less Barkley and Lukaku, too? Both can be replaced. Everyone can, in fact.
  6. Because someone claimed he was giving up his loyalty bonus. No he wasn't.
  7. Opinion 3. Buying club is well known to pay that by everyone in the game. Everton would have had to pay it without the transfer request. It's also convenient for them as they can say he wanted to move, we couldn't do anything. What this "who pays him" has to do with anything is completely irrelevant.
  8. You can forget this "potential top 4". No-one outside of Everton want to see that. They want 4 top teams and 16 feeder clubs. McCarthy is not good enough, but if this status quo is disturbed the media, agents etc. will make sure that Lukaku and/or Barkely are sold before that happens. And the club seems happy to oblige.
  9. How? Those two things have absolutely nothing to do with each other.
  10. Oh, why would Stones hand in a transfer request and forfeit his bonus? Because it's certain Chelsea has already promised to pay him: http://www.thesecretfootballer.com/articles/tsf-diary/27894/john-stones-deal-done-and-dusted-chelsea-can-offer-so-much-more-than-everton/
  11. This is, btw, the fifth time during Kenwright's time that our most prized asset has handed a transfer request late in the window. Quite a coincidence that and obviously has nothing to do with the board.
  12. Don't you think the timing is quite convenient for all parties involved? We have been led to believe there's plenty of money for players without selling Stones, yet we have spent less than five million. Now Stones hands in the transfer request less than a week before TDD so there's no way the club can spend 50 million (Stones + the money we supposedly had already) in this time.
  13. But why couldn't he hand in the request a few weeks ago? This is shit-house tactics. I personally suspect the club full well knew weeks ago he wants to go but he was asked to hand the request so late in the window that the f**kers who own the club can tell they didn't have time to spend the transfer money before TDD.
  14. Bill's PR machine hard at work. Seems like the excuses for transfer failings are starting to emerge. He's a great chairman even though he's skint and if the club doesn't sign good players it's Martinez's fault.
  15. He was accused of being a cry baby so he is probably already your favourite.
  16. Seems to have some personality issues and is accused of giving up too easily.
  17. I wouldn't mind him as a player but if we do sign Yarmolenko it would mean we have signed two right wingers already this window. It would seem a bit ridiculous to sign a third one.
  18. I'm expecting "fuck off Stones" messages from the same idiots who still think Kenwright is the greatest ever. Helps sell him when fans label him a traitor.
  19. Wyness has apparently confirmed that this document is real. So no-one has been interested in buying the club?
  20. It's nice when you can write your own PR and then have a paper print it for free.
  21. Nothing surprises me anymore with this board.
  22. Of course making it a cash-and-player deal would be slightly better because Barnsley get a piece of the money. Problem with Chelsea players is they have high wages and looking at their squad they don't have fringe players that we could use, IMO. Remy maybe the closest who Chelsea might be willing to let go? No idea if they are, but would probably be the best fit.
  23. The latest couple dozen should be plenty enough. About last 24 hours.
