  1. How many trophies have those two won since we last won one?
  2. What do you? I assume public transport planning by the amount of patronising.
  3. And he thinks catchement area has no bearing so a club in village of 100 could build a 100,000 seatet stadium because these things don't matter. Plus of course while the main competitor for fans for Arsenal is Spurs and lately Chelsea, we have dat other lot and the two Manchester clubs.
  4. And obviously London and Liverpool are comparable in size.
  5. Neither had Arsenal when they had a queue. Just like Spurs currently have. How could Everton get that sort of crowds when our neighbours think they can't?
  6. Everton doesn't have a waiting list for season tickets, so your theory goes flat right away. Would RS fill a 70000 stadium? Why then will it only hold 59000 after the expansion?
  7. 50k with room to expand. 40k people in a 60k stadium doesn't look good and the cost is hard to justify. How many games a season could we expect to have over 50k?
  8. Didn't that article mention part of that is used to secure some of the players on new contracts?
  9. He's obviously not going to put a lot of his own money into the club, though. But most importantly, he has been an owner at Arsenal so he should know how to run a club well. Compare this to billionaires who have no such experience, how many have done succeeded?
  10. Good point. Some of our fans think Lukaku is shite after all.
  11. He was cheap enough to warrant a gamble anyways.
  12. It would be over 20 million so forget about Butland unless the takeover is done by some sheikh.
  13. Well, rumours suggest 8 million which isn't too bad.
  14. Begovic was very good at Stoke and was probably Chelsea's best player during the first half of this season. Plenty of PL experience, too, so hard to think of a better alternative that is available, might be interested and is a "sure bet" as you can never be sure how keepers who come from abroad adjust. Good age, too.
  15. Him and Besic could then convince Pjanic that he really wants to play for Everton.
  16. We don't know what has happened at FF since. Maybe both parties thought Mirallas would feature more, but for one reason or another (like bad attitude and poor performances) this hasn't happened.
  17. Come on, someone surely just plucked a name from a Wodehouse novel.
  18. Maybe he should look at Lennon and how he reacted after given a chance.
  19. I started a thread in the rumours section which was apparently deleted (why does the Jagielka thread survive then?). But in principle this sort of thing could be good. These deals just never happen, and in this instance there are actually two issues: Navas is 30 and Martinez just spent 13,5 million on a striker so we'd have three expensive strikers next season, assuming Lukaku stays.
  20. He also took a lot of the TV money with him. He had the right to do it, mind, but I bet Everton fans would be pissed if he did the same here. This guy was also said to be one of the greediest CEO's in USA by Forbes. And of course the new stadium was paid with public money - something that is not going to happen with Everton.
  21. Baseball is the most boring sport in the world, so I'm not familiar with it at all. I've been to a match and I understood why yanks are so fat. Eating unhealthy food and drinking large quantities of beer is the only way to make that experience bearable. My info on Padres came from an article written by a fan but unfortunately I can't find it anymore, but here's another: http://sidespin.kinja.com/the-padres-suck-heres-why-472930403
  22. Padres turned into the worst team in the league while they owned the club.
  23. They might well transfer the 200 million loan onto the club and then use club's income to pay it off. Which would mean very limited funds for any managers for the next decade.
  24. Can't think of any unless you count Kroenke as one. He only owns part of Arsenal, tho. Well, Glazers have been succesful despite that all, but I'd say the juggernaut that is Manchester United's marketing has been the reason, not the Glazers. Lerner at Villa, Ellis at Sunderland, the RS debacle with two owners, Cardiff, Fulham, Millwall, QPR. Not a particularly good list that.
